【摘要】：正质地:铜年代:明尺寸:通高25厘米,口径16.5厘米重量:8.47千克来源:1954年临桂县人民政府拨交收藏单位:广西壮族自治区博物馆钟是中国传统音乐的代表性乐器,为古属八音中的金类,具有悠久的历史,《淮南子·本经训》云:"钟,音之君也。"自商周以来,钟曾广泛用于朝会、祭祀或宴飨等活动,是礼乐制度的重要组成部分。铜钟能发出宏亮而悠扬的声音,使用时既可以单独敲击,也可以组合其他乐器形成合奏,逐渐衍生出许多音乐样式。铜钟一般都有纹饰或铭文,带有鲜明的时代特征。"凡钟为金乐之首,其声一宣,大者闻十里,小者亦及里之余。故君视朝官出署必用以集众,而御饮酒礼必用以和歌,梵宫仙殿必用以明摄谒者之诚,幽起鬼神之敬"(宋应星《天工开物》)。自佛教传入中国后,铜钟就逐渐成为佛教寺院中不可缺少的法器,到了唐代,铜钟逐渐退出乐器组合,成为寺庙、学堂或府衙中用于集众、警示、报时的发声之物,乐器的功能已退化了。
