[Abstract]:The people who served as garrisons in the Western Han Dynasty were called garrison soldiers. In order to consolidate its rule over the new occupation of Northwest China, the Western Han government continued to follow the policy of the previous generation. Because most of the garrison are lower-class people, the literature is rarely recorded, and the future generations of its research is also rare. Qin and Han Dynasty bamboo slips unearthed in recent years, provided a large number of border garrison materials. On the basis of previous studies, this paper makes a tentative investigation on the garrison pawns and their lives in combination with these unearthed bamboo slips. This paper is divided into three parts. First introduced the garrison and the Western Han Dynasty to the garrison management system. This part mainly discusses the origin of garrison and how to manage the garrison in the Western Han Dynasty. The second and third parts are the emphases of this paper. The second part mainly discusses the routine military activities of these garrison soldiers such as waiting Wang, Tong beacon fire, Guangtun Tian and other miscellaneous servitude, and investigates how these activities are carried out in the village border and how they are assessed by the village center. The third part mainly examines the daily social life of the garrison from four aspects: material life, spiritual and cultural life, medical and health condition, and the living conditions of the family members of the garrison, and how the government of the Western Han Dynasty ensured these lives of the garrison soldiers at that time. In order to ensure the garrison of peace of mind.
