史海钩沉,为民主而“招魂”——再读《失败者的探索》

【摘要】：本文就徐宗勉的史论集《失败者的探索》中所提出的"如何使中国走向民主"的大问题而给予的回答,阐明"近代中国之追求民主的过程,乃是一个不断失败,又不断探索的渐进过程",并从近现代历史的角度出发,既挖掘史料来立论,又鉴于现实而驳论。其主旨在于强调历史的深刻教训是"推行法治,摒弃‘人治’";既要提高对"民主"的科学认识,更要加强对"共和"的制度建设。
[Abstract]:This paper gives an answer to the big question of "how to make China move towards democracy" put forward by Xu Zong Mian's Collection of Historical Theory "the Exploration of Losers", and expounds that "the process of pursuing democracy in modern China is a constant failure." And from the angle of modern history, it not only excavates the historical data to argue, but also refutes the theory in view of the reality. Its purport lies in emphasizing that the profound lesson of history is to "carry out the rule of law and abandon the rule of man", and it is necessary to improve the scientific understanding of "democracy" and to strengthen the system construction of "republic".
