[Abstract]:Guangling Tide is the masterpiece of the novelist Li Han-qiu in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It reflects the social features and sentimental state of Yangzhou City in nearly 70 years from the Opium War to the May 4th Movement. By writing the modern society of Yangzhou, the author points out that Yangzhou was a declining city in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. The paper is divided into three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction mainly introduces the relationship between Li Han-qiu and Yangzhou, Guangling Tide and Yangzhou. The main body is divided into three chapters. The first chapter introduces the historical development of Yangzhou City, discusses the decline of the historical status of Yangzhou City, on the one hand, The historical status of Yangzhou was located in the northern part of the Yangtze River from the prosperous southeast Yangzhou in the Qing Kang and Qian dynasties to the seclusion in the late Qing Dynasty. The main reason for this was that the salt reform of the Qing government and the abandonment of the canal transportation destroyed the two economic pillars on which Yangzhou depended for its survival, such as natural disasters and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, which accelerated the decline of Yangzhou. It is the objective environmental factor of Yangzhou's decline. On the other hand, with the rise of Shanghai, Zhenjiang became a commercial port, which to some extent led to the decline of Yangzhou's historical status. The second chapter mainly analyzes the city scene of Yangzhou in "Guangling Tide", from the garden, In this paper, we analyze the decline of traditional urban space and the influence of the new urban space invasion on Yangzhou City. One is the gradual decline of gardens on Yangzhou Lake in 19th century. Almost all the new gardens were built as residential gardens, and few Yangzhou gardens were described in literary works, and most of them were residential gardens, and the scale was relatively small. The second is that the religious site bearing Yangzhou's century-old memory witnessed all aspects of Yangzhou's civic activities and recorded the historical changes of Yangzhou's city; third, most of Yangzhou's temples in the "Guangling Tide" were dilapidated, and the people's moral beliefs were missing. Social superstition is still serious. Fourthly, with the invasion of capitalism, opium importation has led to the emergence of a large number of opium parlours. The third chapter focuses on the analysis of the composition and character of Yangzhou citizens in Guangling Tide. It also briefly discusses the subtle relationship between the fate of the characters and the decline of Yangzhou. In the Guangling Tide, the characters are mainly divided into the merchant stratum with small merchants as the main body, the traditional Confucian scholars and the new-style young people, and the revolutionaries who are mostly opportunists. Fake monks and false Taoists, old-fashioned women who adhere to feudal ethics, new-style women who have taken the freedom of marriage out of context, prostitutes with a lack of talent and a loose life, etc., have revealed their bad nature as citizens of Yangzhou. Their fate is closely related to the fate of the city, reflecting the fate of the decline of Yangzhou in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Finally, the conclusion is drawn in the conclusion that "Guangling Tide" depicts the portrait of Yangzhou as a declining city in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.
