林语堂小说三部曲中的中国英语研究

【摘要】：本文在总结前人研究成果的基础上,对林语堂小说三部曲中的中国英语从语言学角度、语用学角度、以及跨文化角度等进行多元分析,总结国内外读者对小说三部曲的国内外读者接受,探讨林语堂如何利用中国英语实现传播中国文化的成功之处及其对文化翻译的启示。本文所进行的多角度归纳分析旨在研究林语堂创新性的文化翻译策略,丰富林语堂研究的维度。本文中各角度下的具体内容包括：1.在语言学层面,本文分别从词汇短语、句子结构以及篇章结构三个方面进行全面细致的分析,研究林语堂小说三部曲中的对中国文化专有项用中国英语进行表达的不同翻译策略；2.在语用学层面,本文首先从西方语用学的言语行为理论和会话合作原则为理论基础,探讨小说三部曲中中国英语的语用特征,并列举了这些特征的文化根源,同时又从汉语语用的修辞学角度对其中体现汉语修辞特色的中国英语表达进行举例分析；3.跨文化层面上,在定义中国英语的异化翻译性质基础上,分别从文化的五个维度对三部曲中出现的中国文化专有项进行解读,进一步证明中国英语的异化特色和在向世界传播中国文化中所起到的作用。最后,本文作者还通过国内外的读者反应间接地论证林语堂利用中国英语传播中国文化的可行性和可接受性,同时总结归纳林语堂这样做的成功因素及其对文化翻译实践的启示。本文通过对林语堂小说三部曲中中国英语的多角度研究,目的在于了解林语堂在有关反映中国文化或中国特色的篇章翻译时,如何利用中国英语的翻译手段,以丰富翻译表达技巧和不同的中国化的表达方式,实现对中国文化和汉语语言风格的成功传达,创造出完美出色的译文。本文启示后来译者要像林语堂一样,在翻译实践中大胆采用中国英语这一特色表达,充分发挥语言想象力和创造力,努力展现中国文化的博大精深和无限魅力。
[Abstract]:On the basis of summing up the previous research results, this paper makes a multivariate analysis of Chinese English in the trilogy of Lin Yutang's novels from the perspectives of linguistics, pragmatics, and cross-culture. This paper summarizes the readers' acceptance of the trilogy at home and abroad, and probes into how Lin Yutang makes use of Chinese English to achieve the success of spreading Chinese culture and its enlightenment to cultural translation. The purpose of this paper is to study the innovative cultural translation strategies of Lin Yutang and enrich the dimensions of Lin Yutang research. The specific contents of this paper include: 1. At the linguistic level, this paper makes a comprehensive and detailed analysis of lexical phrases, sentence structures and textual structures. A study of the different translation strategies in the trilogy of Lin Yutang's novels on the expression of Chinese culture-specific items in Chinese English. From the perspective of pragmatics, this paper first explores the pragmatic characteristics of the trilogy of Chinese English based on the theory of speech act and the principle of conversational cooperation in western pragmatics, and enumerates the cultural roots of these characteristics. At the same time, from the perspective of Chinese pragmatics, this paper gives an example of Chinese English expression which embodies the characteristics of Chinese rhetoric. On the cross-cultural level, on the basis of defining the alienation nature of Chinese English translation, this paper interprets the Chinese culture-specific items in the trilogy from five dimensions of culture. It further proves the dissimilation of Chinese English and its role in spreading Chinese culture to the world. Finally, the author indirectly demonstrates the feasibility and acceptability of Lin Yutang's use of Chinese English to spread Chinese culture through readers' reactions both at home and abroad. At the same time, it summarizes the successful factors of Lin Yutang's doing so and their enlightenment to cultural translation practice. Through a multi-angle study of Lin Yutang's trilogy, the purpose of this paper is to find out how Lin Yutang makes use of Chinese English when translating texts that reflect Chinese culture or Chinese characteristics. The successful communication of Chinese culture and Chinese language style can be realized by enriching translation skills and different Chinese expressions, and creating a perfect and excellent translation. This paper suggests that the translator should, like Lin Yutang, adopt the Chinese English as a special expression in translation practice, give full play to the language imagination and creativity, and make great efforts to show the profound and boundless charm of Chinese culture.
