无尽的行列:西方“新长城”漫画及其中国回响

【摘要】:抗日战争时期"新长城"概念在中国得到确立,但如何用图像去传达和诠释这个概念依然是个问题。美国漫画家雷吉·曼宁和菲茨帕特里克在1937年至1938年创作的中国新长城漫画,塑造出完全由战士构成的中国新长城形象。他们二人的漫画很快传入中国,在不断转载和仿作中又赋予西方制作的"新长城"漫画以新的意义。这个图像生产及传播过程表明,中国"长城"的视觉形象很大程度上是在"全球化"语境中得到确立的。
[Abstract]:The concept of "New Great Wall" was established in China during the War of Resistance against Japan, but how to use images to convey and interpret this concept is still a problem. American cartoonists Reggie Manning and Fitzpatrick created cartoons of the New Great Wall of China from 1937 to 1938, portraying the image of the New Great Wall of China, which is composed entirely of soldiers. The cartoons of the two of them were soon introduced into China, and the cartoons of the New Great Wall made by the West were given new meaning in the continuous reproduction and imitation. The process of image production and dissemination shows that the visual image of the Great Wall in China is largely established in the context of globalization.
