目的论与接受美学指导下的非虚构类传记翻译—《大亨小传》英译汉个案研究

【摘要】：功能学派的目的论认为,翻译的过程由目的主导,翻译的目的决定了该采取什么样的翻译策略和标准。目的论的原则为译者的翻译实践提供了一定的指导,但从近年有关目的论的研究来看,学者们普遍认为目的论更适用于应用型的文本,对文学翻译的适用性并不强。而本文研究的翻译项目《大亨小传》为一篇非虚构类的传记,该文本既有应用型文本的特征,同时也具有一定的文学色彩。为了弥补目的论理论框架的局限性,本文将目的论与接受美学理论进行结合。诞生于二十世纪六十年代的接受美学理论认为,任何文学作品只有在读者对其进行解读之后才具有确定的意义,翻译作品只有得到读者的认可才有生存的空间。翻译目的论与接受美学理论是相辅相成的。《大亨小传》讲述了美国金融巨擘科尼利尔斯·范德比尔特的传奇人生,该书荣膺“美国国家图书奖”和“普利策传记奖”。本文以《大亨小传》作为研究案例,对传记文本的英译中翻译实践进行了分析,以目的论和接受美学理论为基本出发点,探讨了传记翻译实践当中具体翻译策略的选择。通过分析可以得出,目的论和接受美学理论对传记文本的翻译具有较强的指导意义,但是同时也具有一些不可避免的局限性。：

The biography obtained through the analysis, the Skopos Theory and the theory of reception aesthetics has a strong guiding significance to the biography of text translation, but also has some inevitable limitations:
