从切斯特曼翻译伦理看鲁迅小说的英译

【摘要】：鲁迅作为我国现代伟大的文学家，其小说思想深刻，具有强烈的现实主义色彩，不仅为国人所喜爱，而且吸引了国内外学者将鲁迅小说译成英文,促进了鲁迅作品乃至中国文化在国外的传播。同时国内外学者也从翻译对等、接受美学和生态理论等不同的角度对鲁迅小说英译本进行了深入的分析和研究。伦理是人际关系中的道德规范。翻译活动作为跨文化交流的重要形式需要道德规范的制约，翻译伦理为翻译活动提供了普遍的道德标准。翻译伦理是继翻译研究的“文化转向”之后翻译研究领域出现的又一个热潮，西方学者如安托尼纳·贝尔曼、安东尼·皮姆、劳伦斯·韦努蒂等倡导了翻译研究的伦理转向。芬兰学者切斯特曼在《翻译模因论：翻译思想的传播》一书中也专门探讨了翻译伦理问题并勾勒出了翻译的五种伦理模式，即：再现伦理、服务伦理、交际伦理、基于规范的伦理以及承诺伦理，将翻译研究和伦理有机结合起来，为翻译研究提供了新的研究视角。本文拟采用切斯特曼的五种翻译伦理模式对鲁迅小说的英译进行总体上的解读，以杨宪益和戴乃迭夫妇、美国翻译家威廉·莱尔以及华裔学者王际真的译本为例，，探讨了切斯特曼的五种翻译伦理模式在鲁迅小说英译中的体现，为鲁迅小说的英译研究提供了全新的视角。文章同时总结出五种翻译伦理模式在解读小说译文中的优缺点，为翻译伦理学的理论发展提供一定的实践支持。
[Abstract]:Lu Xun, as a great modern writer in China, has profound thoughts and strong realism in his novels, which is not only loved by the people of China, but also attracted scholars at home and abroad to translate his novels into English. At the same time, scholars at home and abroad have also made a thorough analysis and study on the English translation of Lu Xun's novels from the perspectives of translation equivalence, reception aesthetics and ecological theory. Ethics is the moral norm in interpersonal relations. Translation, as an important form of cross-cultural communication, requires the restriction of moral norms. Translation ethics provides a universal moral standard for translation activities. Translation ethics is another upsurge in the field of translation studies following the "cultural turn" of translation studies. Western scholars such as Antona Berman, Antony Pim. Laurent Weinuti and others have advocated the ethical turn in translation studies. In translation memetics: the spread of translation ideas, the Finnish scholar Chesterman also devoted himself to the ethical issues of translation and outlined five ethical models of translation. That is, reproduction ethics, service ethics, communication ethics, norm-based ethics and commitment ethics combine translation studies with ethics, which provides a new perspective for translation studies. This paper intends to use Chesterman's five modes of translation ethics to interpret the English translation of Lu Xun's novels in a general way, taking the actual translation of the novels by Yang Xianyi and Danadian, the American translator William Lyle and the Chinese scholar Wang Ji as examples. This paper probes into the embodiment of Chesterman's five modes of translation ethics in the translation of Lu Xun's novels, which provides a new angle of view for the study of the translation of Lu Xun's novels. At the same time, the paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the five modes of translation ethics in interpreting the translation of novels. It provides some practical support for the theoretical development of translation ethics.
