从格式塔意象再造的角度谈《红楼梦》中大观园花园意象的诠译

【摘要】: 作为中华瑰宝的《红楼梦》,其思想价值与美学价值可谓登峰造极。其中意象之丰富、深远与变幻莫测,更是叫人叹为观止。“意象美”可以说成为了《红楼梦》艺术审美中不可或缺的主体部分。尤其是大观园这一意象具有丰富的审美内涵,且与全书的故事叙述和艺术构思有深度的契合。本文从红楼梦中“大观园”这一花园意象的翻译着眼,,主要探讨了它在不同层面上的审美特征和相对应的大卫·霍克斯和杨宪益夫妇两译本译文的得失,并结合格式塔意象再造的翻译理论,提出了翻译中意象传递的具体方法。 格式塔意象再造是由姜秋霞博士在其2002年出版的《文学翻译中的的审美过程:格式塔意象再造》一书中首次明确提出的。其基本内容为:(1)格式塔意象是文学作品作为一个整体概念上的意象,是普遍存在于文学文本中的一种特质;(2)每个格式塔意象中都有格式塔质,其美学成分主要包括了“情绪”和“轮廓",那么从美学角度看,成功的文学翻译在于成功的格式塔质再造;(3)基于格式塔意象再造基础上的文学翻译模式为:第一步:理解原文——格式塔意象的心理实现;第二步:再造译文。 本文在此理论基础上进一步挖掘了格式塔意象再造在文学翻译中的心理全过程即是一个“格式塔式观察”——“图式生成”——“主动转换”的流程。在整个翻译心理运作中,译者的主体性被大为突出,翻译的创造性的根源也正蕴藏在格式塔心理意象的生成与转换中。把它结合到《红楼梦》中物人合一,多元综化的大观园意象翻译中来,自然得出结论:成功的意象翻译一定是整体和谐的。而要得到和谐的译文,其一,译者必须移情以保持原文意象整体核心的忠实;其二,译者必须变通的处理意象以最大限度的减少文化因素给目的语读者带来的损失。 由此可见,本文结合了心理学,阐释学和翻译学的研究成果,强调了意象翻译中的格式塔整体观与处理文化意象的变通性,旨在为传统译论打开更新更广的视角,为中西文化交流铺就更顺畅的道路。
[Abstract]:As a Chinese treasure, A Dream of Red Mansions, its ideological value and aesthetic value can be said to be the highest. Among them, the rich image, far-reaching and unpredictable, but also amazing. Image Beauty can be said to be an indispensable part of the art aesthetics of A Dream of Red Mansions. Especially, the image of Grand View Garden has rich aesthetic connotation, and has deep agreement with the story narration and artistic conception of the book. From the perspective of the translation of the garden image in the Dream of Red Mansions, this paper mainly discusses its aesthetic features on different levels and the corresponding translation of David Hawks and the couple Yang Xianyi. Combined with the theory of Gestalt image reconstruction, this paper puts forward the specific methods of image transfer in translation. Gestalt image reconstruction was first explicitly put forward by Dr. Jiang Qiuxia in his book "Aesthetic process in Literary Translation: reconstructing Gestalt Image" published in 2002. Its basic content is: (1) Gestalt image is the image of literary works as a whole concept, is a kind of characteristic that exists in the literature text generally, every gestalt tower image has the gestalt quality. Its aesthetic elements mainly include "emotion" and "outline", so from the aesthetic point of view, successful literary translation lies in successful Gestalt reconstruction. 3) the model of literary translation based on Gestalt image reconstruction is as follows: the first step: understanding the original text-the psychological realization of Gestalt image; the second step: reconstructing the translation. On the basis of this theory, this paper further excavates that the psychological process of Gestalt image reconstruction in literary translation is a process of "form-tower observation"-"schema generation"-"active transformation". In the whole psychological operation of translation, the translator's subjectivity is greatly highlighted, and the creative source of translation lies in the formation and transformation of the Gestalt psychological image. Combining it with the "Dream of Red Mansions", which is a combination of human beings and human beings, and a pluralistic translation of the grand view garden image, it is natural to draw the conclusion that successful image translation must be harmonious as a whole. In order to obtain a harmonious translation, first, the translator must empathize in order to keep the whole core of the original image faithful; second, the translator must deal with the image flexibly in order to minimize the loss caused to the target language readers by the cultural factors. From this we can see that this paper combines the research results of psychology, hermeneutics and translation, and emphasizes the holistic view of gestalt and the flexibility of dealing with cultural images in image translation, in order to open up a new and broader perspective for the traditional translation theory. To pave the way for a more smooth cultural exchange between China and the West.
