中西方女性气质与人生情境的比较分析:《嘉莉妹妹》与《长恨歌》

【摘要】: 美国著名男作家西奥多·德莱塞的小说《嘉莉妹妹》和中国女作家王安忆的《长恨歌》在他们各自的国度里都得到了读者的认可与热情赞誉,他们的创作都从女性主义的视角关注了女性生存境遇与命运。虽然两部作品来自不同年代,国家和性别的作者,通过对比分析,我们可以发现两部作品女主人公的相似之处。所以本文将立足于东西方文化比较和女性主义批评对这两部作品进行探讨和研究,对比分析两部作品中的女性形象,个性特征以及她们各自遭遇的异同,挖掘东西方女性在不同社会文化背景下表现出的女性意识,探究社会背景和认同度对两作者写作的影响。通过这两位作家的作品对比,我们发现,尽管西奥多·德莱塞是一位男性作家,且《嘉莉妹妹》刚出版时被指责为不道德的,但是西方文化传统给予了作者更多张扬的空间,使其笔下的女性更具有反叛的女性主义色彩。嘉莉妹妹的形象在她的年代可以称的上是新女性的代表;王安忆的小说充满了明显的女性意识尽管她自己并不主张将其作品纳入女性主义,受东方传统的妇女美德标准的影响,作家王安忆则在其女性意识与传统观念折衷的基础上叙事。 我的论文共包括五部分:引言部分旨在介绍前人对两位作者的作品评价与研究。 第一章共分三个部分。第一部分和第二部分分别详细介绍了两位作者生平及其写作背景。第三部分对比较文学进行了简要回顾并点明了本论文的写作视角和目的。 第二章分为三部分。第一部分介绍了西方女性主义的发展历史。第二部分介绍了中国的女性主义发展道路和女性写作。第三部分是对中西方女性主义发展的比较和总结,总的来说,这部分是对中西方女性主义理论的回顾。 第三章由四部分组成。第一部分从女性主义视角比较了“新女性”和旧女性,并为我们展现了嘉莉妹妹和王琦瑶的新女性形象。第二部分讨论了两个女主人公在对独立和勇气的追求过程中女性意识的觉醒。第三部分证明了两个女主人公都是永不停止的追求者。一个为了自己的梦而探索,彷徨;另一个用了一生的代价来追求充满激情的爱。她们的追求是永无止境的。第四部分主要通过比较两个女主人公的不同结局来揭示两作者女性观的差异。 结语部分意图展现两文本创作的社会和文化背景,来探索社会认同度对两作者写作的影响。另外,本文作者还提出了当今中国女性面临的几个问题。当然,整篇论文还留下许多有待探讨的东西。该论文试图进一步促进对中国女性写作和女性主义发展的讨论。
[Abstract]:Theodore Dreiser's novel Sister Carrie and Chinese woman writer Wang Anyi's Song of Eternal resentment have been recognized and praised by readers in their respective countries. Their works focus on the living conditions and fate of women from the perspective of feminism. Although the two works come from different ages, countries and gender authors, through comparative analysis, we can find the similarities between the two works heroine. Therefore, based on the cultural comparison between the East and the West and feminist criticism, this paper will discuss and study the two works, and compare and analyze the female images, personality characteristics and the similarities and differences between the two works. This paper explores the influence of the social background and the degree of identity on the writing of the two authors by exploring the female consciousness of the eastern and western women in different social and cultural backgrounds. By comparing the works of the two writers, we find that, although Theodore Dreiser is a male writer and is accused of being immoral when Sister Carrie was first published, Western cultural tradition gives the author more room for publicity. So that the women in his writings have a more rebellious feminist color. Sister Carrie's image can be described as a representative of new women in her time; Wang Anyi's novels are full of obvious feminine consciousness, although she herself does not advocate the inclusion of her works in feminism, influenced by the traditional standards of women's virtue in the East. Wang Anyi, on the other hand, narrates on the basis of the compromise between her female consciousness and traditional ideas. My thesis consists of five parts: the introduction introduces the works of the two authors. Chapter one is divided into three parts. The first part and the second part introduce the author's life and writing background in detail. The third part briefly reviews comparative literature and points out the perspective and purpose of this thesis. The second chapter is divided into three parts. The first part introduces the history of western feminism. The second part introduces the development of feminism and female writing in China. The third part is the comparison and summary of the development of Chinese and western feminism. The third chapter consists of four parts. The first part compares the new women with the old women from the feminist perspective, and shows us the new female images of sister Carrie and Wang Qiyao. The second part discusses the awakening of female consciousness in the pursuit of independence and courage. The third part proves that the two heroines are unstoppable suitors. One explores and wandered for his dreams; the other seeks passionate love at the cost of a lifetime. Their pursuit is endless. The fourth part reveals the difference of the author's view of women by comparing the different endings of the two heroines. The conclusion is intended to reveal the social and cultural background of the two texts to explore the impact of social identity on the two authors' writing. In addition, the author also puts forward several problems that Chinese women face today. Of course, the whole paper leaves much to be explored. This paper attempts to further promote the discussion of Chinese female writing and the development of feminism.
