英语格律诗的节奏汉译研究

【摘要】:和汉诗一样,英诗作为英语国家文学的瑰宝和精华,有其特殊的审美原则、艺术内涵和方法技巧,具有很强的语言表现力和艺术感染力。自然,英诗汉译在我国也就成了翻译领域中的重要组成部分。而英语格律诗是英诗的重要组成部分,历来受到中外读者的喜爱,具有很高的翻译价值。然而,由于英汉民族在思维方式和审美观念等方面存在着明显的差异,这一切自然也形成了两个民族在诗歌音韵、格律、句式、节奏等各方面的明显差异。因此,在英诗汉译过程中,,如何传递和再现原诗的这些特点和信息,使中文读者充分感受英语国家文化中诗歌的艺术价值,并在听觉、视觉和心灵上获得最大程度的享受,也就成了每一位译者努力追求的目标。 节奏又是诗歌不可或缺的音律因素,因此对节奏的翻译是文学翻译中的一个重要问题。法国学者梅肖尼克及其弟子德松的诗学“节奏”观拓展和加深了对节奏的理解,即“节奏”并不仅仅是文本中的一种具有周期性的形式因素,而是文本内在的组织方式,它统摄着作品的形式和内容,体现了后者的特殊性及价值。对“节奏”的这一新认识能给我们的翻译实践和理论研究带来众多启示。 本文从形式入手,运用勒菲弗尔的诗学理论,并结合已往诗歌翻译实践中形成的中西方诗学和研究成果,以及对英语格律诗的特点分析,探讨英语格律诗的节奏汉译方法,主张英语格律诗仍应译为格律诗,体现原诗的节奏美,但否定以单一方法翻译英语格律诗的做法和主张。勒菲弗尔的诗学关注的,一是文学技巧、体裁、主题、典型人物和情境、象征的组合,二是界定文学在整个社会系统中是什么或应该是什么角色。本论文在勒菲弗尔诗学理论指导下并结合节奏的诗学特征和诗学功能,通过大量的实例分析,指出英语格律诗节奏汉译的得与失,并提出其节奏汉译有效方法。选择恰当的英诗的节奏汉译方法会对优秀译作有积极意义,对从事诗歌翻译的工作者来说也有借鉴和参考价值。
[Abstract]:Like Chinese poetry, English poetry, as the treasure and essence of English national literature, has its special aesthetic principles, artistic connotation and method skills, and has strong language expression and artistic appeal. Naturally, the translation of English poems into Chinese has become an important part in the field of translation. As an important part of English poetry, English rhymes have always been loved by Chinese and foreign readers and have high translation value. However, since there are obvious differences in the way of thinking and aesthetic concepts between English and Chinese, all of which naturally form the obvious differences between the two nationalities in the aspects of poem rhyme, rhythm, sentence pattern, rhythm and so on. Therefore, in the process of translating English poetry into Chinese, how to convey and reproduce these characteristics and information of the original poem, so that Chinese readers can fully feel the artistic value of poetry in the culture of English-speaking countries, and obtain the maximum enjoyment in hearing, vision and soul. It has become the goal of every translator. Rhythm is an indispensable rhythmic factor in poetry, so the translation of rhythm is an important problem in literary translation. The poetics "rhythm" of French scholar and his disciple Deson expands and deepens the understanding of rhythm, that is, "rhythm" is not only a kind of periodic formal factor in the text, but also the internal organization of the text. It dominates the form and content of the works, reflecting the particularity and value of the latter. This new understanding of Rhythm can bring us a lot of enlightenment in translation practice and theoretical research. From the perspective of form, this paper makes use of Lefevere's poetics theory, combines the Chinese and western poetics and research results formed in the past poetry translation practice, and analyzes the characteristics of English rhyme poetry, and probes into the rhythmic Chinese translation methods of English rhyming poems. The author argues that English rhyme poems should still be translated into rhythmic poems, reflecting the rhythmic beauty of the original poems, but negating the practice and proposition of translating English rhymes by a single method. Lefevere's poetics focuses on the combination of literary skills, genres, themes, typical characters and situations, and symbolism, and defines what role literature is or should be in the whole social system. Under the guidance of Lefevere's poetics theory and the poetics features and functions of rhythm, this thesis points out the gains and losses of Chinese translation of rhythm of English rhymes through a large number of examples, and puts forward some effective methods for translating rhythms into Chinese. Choosing the appropriate rhythmic Chinese translation method of English poetry will have positive significance for the excellent translation, and it will also have reference value for the poetry translation workers.
