试论元人小令的英译

【摘要】: 在我国悠久的历史文化中,唐诗、宋词、元曲、汉赋并称为我国文化之瑰宝。元曲作为元代文学的代表,以其独特的艺术成就在中国文学史上占有重要的地位,近千年来一直为人们传诵不衰。 元曲是元代特有的文学艺术形式,小令则是元曲短小的内容形式体现。但时至今日,有关元人小令翻译的研究和译本仍比较少见。 本文选择了辜正坤教授编写的《元曲一百五十首》和许渊冲教授编写的《元曲三百首》英译本进行比较分析,鉴于两位译者持有各自独特的翻译理论,并且对同一小令的翻译处理上也不尽相同,本人希望仰仗前辈的名望和观点对元曲小令的翻译方法和标准进行探讨;结合两位译者所持的不同翻译理论对译者对相同翻译任务所做出的不同处理进行比较分析,找出元人小令英文翻译的特色,辅以问卷调查以检验元人小令英文翻译方法的可接受性和被认同性。 作者个人认为,对于元人小令这样具有中国特色的文体,除了借用各类翻译理论进行必要的分析外,用中国人自己创立的翻译理论能够更好地进行分析:因为中国本土的翻译大师对于汉语更为了解,,在长期翻译实践中总结出的针对中国古诗词的翻译理论会更适用于中国古诗词的翻译研究。故作者进行分析的主要理论基础为“多元互补理论”和“三美”、“三之”“三化”理论。 本文第一章介绍了在相关历史文化背景下元曲的起源、发展和文学特点。 第二章作者着重分析了元人小令的可译性问题。 第三章简述了当前元人小令翻译的状况,引出两个不同的英译本以及不同译者所持的不同翻译理论。 第四章是本文的主体部分,在第二章元人小令可译性分析的基础之上,对小令不同的译文进行详细的数据总结和理论分析,同时比较不同译者所持的不同翻译理论对于译文的影响。 第五章是作者针对英汉互译学习者或对英汉互译问题感兴趣的读者所做的一份问卷调查,内容紧扣元人小令的翻译特点和可能采取的翻译策略。 第六章中,作者在借鉴多种译本的基础上,列出自己翻译的几首元人小令,虽然远不能和两位翻译大师的作品相提并论,但终究是作者在总结小令翻译特色的基础上得出的心得体会运用于实践的成果,还有待大家给予批评指正。作者在结论部分就元人小令的翻译特点和需要注意的问题进行了适当的总结。
[Abstract]:In the long history and culture of our country, Tang poetry, Song ci, Yuan qu and Han Fu are regarded as the treasures of Chinese culture. As the representative of Yuan Dynasty literature, Yuan qu occupies an important position in the history of Chinese literature with its unique artistic achievements. Yuan qu is a unique literary and artistic form in Yuan Dynasty, while Xiao Ling is a short content form of Yuan qu. However, until now, the study and translation of Xiao Ling translation of Yuan Dynasty are still relatively rare. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the English versions of "Yuan qu 150" by Professor Koo Zhengkun and "Yuan qu 300" by Professor Xu Yuanchong. In view of the unique translation theories of the two translators, And the translation of the same Xiao Ling is not the same. I hope to rely on the fame and views of the predecessors to explore the translation methods and standards of the Yuan qu Xiao Ling; Based on the different translation theories adopted by the two translators, this paper makes a comparative analysis of the different treatments made by the two translators for the same translation tasks, and finds out the characteristics of the translation of Xiao Ling in Yuan Dynasty. A questionnaire survey was used to test the acceptability and acceptability of the translation methods. The author personally believes that for a style with Chinese characteristics such as Xiaoling of Yuan Dynasty, besides borrowing various translation theories to carry out necessary analysis, The translation theory developed by the Chinese people can be used to better analyze it: because the Chinese translation masters have a better understanding of the Chinese language. The translation theory of ancient Chinese poetry concluded in the long term translation practice will be more suitable for the translation of ancient Chinese poetry. Therefore, the main theoretical basis of the author's analysis is the theory of multiple complementation and three beauties, and the theory of "three of three" and "three of transformation". The first chapter introduces the origin, development and literary characteristics of Yuan qu in the historical and cultural background. In the second chapter, the author focuses on the translatability of the Yuan Dynasty. Chapter three gives a brief account of the current situation of the translation of Xiao Ling in Yuan Dynasty, leading to two different English versions and different translation theories held by different translators. The fourth chapter is the main part of this paper, on the basis of the analysis of the translatability of the second chapter, the author makes a detailed data summary and theoretical analysis on the different translations of Xiao Ling. At the same time, the effects of different translation theories on the target text are compared. Chapter five is a questionnaire survey for learners or readers who are interested in translation between English and Chinese. The content is closely related to the translation characteristics and possible translation strategies of Yuan Ren Xiao Ling. In the sixth chapter, the author lists several of his translations on the basis of various translations, although it is far from comparable to the works of the two masters of translation. However, it is the author's experience in practice based on summing up the characteristics of Xiao Ling's translation that has yet to be criticized and corrected. In the conclusion part, the author summarizes the translation characteristics and problems needing attention.
