功能目的论在电影翻译中的运用

【摘要】: 电影翻译是文学翻译的一个重要分支,在促进中外文化交流,加强中国同其他国家人民之间的了解等方面扮演着不可忽视的角色。但是电影翻译研究一直是一个较受冷落的领域,对此的投入远比不上在其它文学形式方面的投入。目前中国的电影翻译中存在着很多的问题。我国电影出口市场上充斥着一些翻译质量极其低下的外语影片,这对外国观众正确地欣赏这些原本很优秀的作品造成了很大的障碍。 本文首先分析了目前中国电影翻译存在的一些问题。之后论述了电影的基本特点,包括台词的瞬间性、口语化、流行性、简洁性、省略性等等方面。紧接着提到了目前电影翻译所遵循的几个大原则,包括围绕观众翻译电影,语言的融合,展现剧中人物的个性,文化内涵的再现等等。 但是笔者还认为这些原则指导下的翻译策略在处理电影中某些跨文化因素方面显得力不从心。因此笔者就试图从某些翻译理论的角度去给电影翻译实践提供一些建设性的意见。 可适应的理论主要是德国功能派翻译目的论。该理论认为不同的文本翻译的策略各不相同,同时他们强调翻译的目的性,译者是在翻译目的的指引下决定最合适的翻译策略,即翻译行动的目的决定达到预期目标的策略,这样原文就不再是一个不可违背的法则,翻译者不再单纯地去考虑是否要忠诚地传达原文的信息,风格等。 翻译者被置于很高的地位去从事翻译活动,由此有权决定自己的目的,有权去选择合适的翻译策略来达到翻译的目的。我国对外电影翻译的目的很明确,就是把中国文化和思想价值观以电影的形式让全世界欣赏,达到共鸣与认同。 笔者运用电影记录片《船工》作为案例分析,说明这部带有浓郁湖北地域特色的电影可以运用翻译目的论来处理很多具体的翻译问题。笔者提出了加注,调整,删减,解释,以模糊法翻译模糊信息,信息的降格和信息的提升这八种翻译策略来处理翻译过程中的具体问题,旨在说明功能学派的翻译目的论可以运用在电影翻译中,希望能为中国影视业的发展做出贡献。
[Abstract]:Film translation is an important branch of literary translation, which plays an important role in promoting cultural exchanges between China and other countries and strengthening the understanding between Chinese and other peoples. However, the study of film translation has always been a neglected field, and the investment in this field is far less than that in other literary forms. At present, there are many problems in film translation in China. The export market of Chinese films is full of foreign language films with extremely low translation quality, which creates a great obstacle for foreign audiences to appreciate these excellent works correctly. This paper first analyzes some problems existing in the translation of Chinese films. Then discusses the basic characteristics of the film, including the instantaneous lines, colloquial, epidemic, succinct, ellipsis and so on. Then several major principles of film translation are mentioned, including the translation of movies around the audience, the fusion of language, the display of characters' individuality and the reproduction of cultural connotations, and so on. However, the author also believes that the translation strategies under the guidance of these principles are inadequate in dealing with some cross-cultural factors in the film. Therefore, the author tries to give some constructive suggestions to the film translation practice from the perspective of some translation theories. The adaptable theory is mainly the Skopos theory of German functionalist translation. According to this theory, different translation strategies are different, and they emphasize the Skopos of translation. The translator is the most suitable translation strategy under the guidance of translation purpose, that is, the purpose of translation action determines the strategy to achieve the desired goal. In this way, the original text is no longer an inviolate rule, and the translator no longer simply considers whether to convey the message and style of the original text faithfully. Translators are placed in a high position to engage in translation activities, so that they have the right to decide their own purpose and to choose appropriate translation strategies to achieve the purpose of translation. The purpose of Chinese foreign film translation is to make the whole world appreciate Chinese culture and ideological values in the form of movies, and to achieve resonance and identity. The author uses the film documentary Shipyard as a case study to show that this film with strong regional characteristics in Hubei can be used to deal with many specific translation problems using Skopos Theory. The author proposes eight translation strategies to deal with the specific problems in the process of translation, namely, adding notes, adjusting, deleting, explaining, translating fuzzy information by fuzzy method, demotion of information and promotion of information. The purpose of this paper is to illustrate that the Skopos theory of functionalism can be applied to film translation in the hope of contributing to the development of Chinese film and television industry.
