语用学视角下余光中戏剧翻译研究

【摘要】:戏剧,作为一种古老的文学体裁,有着许多有别于其他文学体裁的特征,是人类文化发展史上一颗璀璨的明珠。然而,戏剧翻译的研究却远远少与其他文学体裁,尤其是缺乏系统的理论和标准。戏剧翻译具有区别于其它文学体裁的特征,因此在翻译戏剧时需要译者找到针对这一体裁的最佳翻译理论和方法。 语用学是语言学中的一门新学科,主要研究语言的使用。它以日常对话为研究对象,研究语义学无法解释或者传统语法不能分析的意义。而戏剧主要以人物对白为主,因此,语用学可以并且很有必要被应用到戏剧翻译中去。语用学理论可以指导和帮助戏剧翻译者更好的理解原语中人物对白的意图并以恰当的方式传达译文的读者和观众。本文主要结合语用学的部分理论对翻译家余光中翻译的王尔德的两部戏剧进行研究,指出余光中的翻译实践证实了语用学理论应用到戏剧翻译的适用性。由于时间和空间的限制,笔者只具体研究言语行为理论和会话含义在戏剧翻译中的应用。 结论部分,作者明确观点:语用学理论对戏剧翻译实践具有重要意义。由于戏剧舞台表演的特殊性,译者在翻译戏剧过程中不但要准确的传达作者的原意,还要重视演员的可表演性以及观众的反应,最大限度的达到语用对等。余光中在戏剧翻译中重视语用因素,达到了“读者顺眼,观众入耳,演员上口”的良好效果。语用学理论的虽然不能指导整个戏剧翻译的活动,但其应用会对戏剧翻译研究发展起重大的推动作用。
[Abstract]:Drama, as an ancient literary genre, has many characteristics different from other literary genres, and is a bright pearl in the history of human culture development. However, the study of drama translation is far less than other literary genres, especially the lack of systematic theories and standards. Drama translation is different from other literary genres, so it is necessary for translators to find the best translation theory and method for this genre in translating drama. Pragmatics is a new subject in linguistics, which mainly studies the use of language. It takes daily dialogue as the research object, and studies the meaning that semantics can not be explained or traditional grammar can not analyze. Therefore, pragmatics can and must be applied to drama translation. Pragmatics theory can guide and help drama translators to better understand the intention of the characters in the source language and communicate the target readers and audiences in an appropriate way. This paper mainly studies Wang Erde's two plays translated by translator Yu Guangzhong in combination with some theories of pragmatics, and points out that Yu Guangzhong's translation practice confirms the applicability of pragmatic theory to drama translation. Due to the limitation of time and space, the author only studies the application of speech act theory and conversational implicature in drama translation. In the conclusion part, the author makes it clear that pragmatics theory is of great significance to drama translation practice. Due to the particularity of drama stage performance, translators should not only accurately convey the original meaning of the author, but also pay attention to the performers and the reaction of the audience in the process of translating drama, so as to achieve pragmatic equivalence to the maximum extent. Yu Guangzhong attached importance to pragmatic factors in drama translation, and achieved the good effect of "readers are pleasing to the eye, the audience is in the ear, and the actors are on the upper mouth". Although pragmatic theory can not guide the whole drama translation activities, its application will play an important role in promoting the development of drama translation studies.
