基于语料库的《紫色》汉译本的译者性别研究

【摘要】：性别和语言是影响文学翻译实践的重要因素。性别差异又会导致语言差异,翻译是两种语言的转换,因此两性语言习惯的不同又会导致翻译的不同。除此之外,伴随着女性主义运动和文化转向,性别对翻译的影响也受到了越来越多的关注。《紫色》是艾丽斯·沃克笔下的女性主义作品,在1983年获得普利策文学奖,它反映了女性在男性的压迫中逐渐成长强大并与男性反抗的过程。这样一部女性主义作品在译者性别对翻译影响的研究中是一个很好的案例。本文在前人相关的研究基础上,以《紫色》的女性陶洁译本和男性杨仁敬译本为案例,利用语料库从词汇学和语用学角度具体讨论了以下几个问题:第一,男性译者和女性译者是否会对词汇的选择造成影响?如果有影响的话,分别体现在哪些方面?第二,这些影响是由男性译者和女性译者原来的语言习惯造成的还是由译者的性别意识造成的?第三,作为国内的女性译者,能否以客观的态度进行翻译,能否不故意美化女性形象或者是贬低男性形象?第四,男性译者是否能站在女性的立场上进行翻译?本文通过对《紫色》两译本进行对比分析,得出以下结论:首先,男女译者在代词、语气词、程度副词、语气副词、连词、模糊语和脏话选择上存在差异,有些是原来的两性语言习惯引起的,有些是译者的性别意识引起的。其次,女性译者能以客观的态度进行翻译,较好地翻译出原作的意图和情感,而不是进行劫持或篡改。男性译者有时还会受父权文化的影响,弱化了作者凸显女性形象的词汇。最后,男性译者在从“她”的角度翻译上进行了尝试,尽量模仿女性话语,但在情感内容的理解上还做得不够完善。前人的研究在数据和客观性上还比较欠缺,本文利用语料库得出大量的数据,从词汇和语用方面对翻译中的性别差异进行了对比,结合数据分析阐述了翻译中性别差异的原因,为今后性别对翻译的影响的研究提供了参考数据,一定程度上弥补了该项研究语料数据方面的不足。
[Abstract]:Gender and language are important factors that affect the practice of literary translation. Gender differences also lead to language differences, and translation is the conversion of two languages. Therefore, the difference in the habits of the sexes will lead to the difference in translation. In addition, with the feminist movement and cultural turn, the influence of gender on translation has also attracted more and more attention. Purple is a feminist work written by Alice Walker. It won the Pulitzer prize in literature in 1983. It reflects the process that women grow stronger and resist men in the oppression of men. Such a feminist work is a good case in the study of the influence of translators on the translators' gender. Based on the previous research on the "purple" female and male versions of Tao Yang Renjing translation as a case, discusses the following problems from the perspective of pragmatics lexicology and use corpus: first, whether male and female translators will influence the translator's choice of words? If anything, which is reflected in what areas? Second, these effects are caused by a male translator and a female translator original language habits or by the translator's gender consciousness caused by? Third, as the domestic female translators, whether to take an objective view of translation, can beautify the image of women is not intentionally or belittle the male image fourth, male translator? If you can stand on the position of women translation? Based on the comparative analysis of two versions of "purple", draw the following conclusions: first, male and female translator in pronouns, modal words There are differences in the choice of degree adverbs, modal adverbs, conjunctions, vague words and swearing words, some of which are caused by the original sexual language habits, some of which are caused by the translators' gender consciousness. Secondly, female translators can translate in an objective manner to better translate the intention and emotion of the original, not the hijacking or tampering. The male translator is sometimes influenced by the patriarchal culture, weakening the author's vocabulary to highlight the female image. Finally, the male translator tries to translate from the perspective of "she", and tries to imitate the female language, but it is not perfect in the understanding of the emotional content. In the previous research data and objectivity is defective, this paper draws a large amount of data from the corpus, lexical and pragmatic aspects of the comparison of the gender differences in translation, combining with the data analysis explains why the translation of gender differences, to provide reference data for future study on the translation of the influence of gender, to a certain extent to compensate for the lack of the study of the data.
