从语言隐喻角度分析小说《水浒传》中的人物绰号翻译

【摘要】：金圣叹对古典小说《水浒传》的人物形象塑造成就给予了很高的评价,认为《水浒传》"写一百八人,真是一百八样"。虽然将本书中的一百单八将的性格均进行了超越类型化的评论方式,有些过于高估的成分,但不可否认的是,在明朝初年那个还没有诞生《红楼梦》的时代里,施耐庵的一部《水浒传》打破了前代小说创作中包括《三国演义》在内所有人物形象塑造原则层面的窠臼,在古典小说史上具有非比寻常的里程碑作用。然而在人物形象的鲜明表现中,人物绰号的使用存在着比较有代表性的意义。伴随着民族文化软实力的逐渐增强,传统文化的国际影响力也随之不断扩大,以至于《水浒传》的翻译成为了海外汉学研究中比较热议的话题。本论文从语言隐喻的角度出发,通过沙博理英译本的《水浒传》中有关绰号翻译的讨论,进一步展现出西方阅读视野下,人物的绰号及其代表意义在外国读者心目中的感知映像。
[Abstract]:Jin Shengtan gives a high appraisal to the achievement of portraying the characters of the classic novel Water margin, and thinks that "180 people write, 180 really".Although the character of the 100 single and eighth generals in this book has been commented in a way that goes beyond the type, and some elements are too overestimated, it is undeniable that in the early years of the Ming Dynasty, when the Dream of the Red Mansions had not yet been born, there was no such thing as a dream of the Red Mansions.A novel by Schneian, Water margin, breaks the stereotype of all the characters in the previous novels, including the Romance of the three Kingdoms, and plays an unusual role in the history of classical novels.However, the use of character nicknames has a more representative significance in the vivid expression of character image.With the gradual enhancement of the soft power of national culture, the international influence of traditional culture has been expanded, so that the translation of Water margin has become a hot topic in Sinology studies abroad.From the perspective of linguistic metaphor, this thesis, through the discussion on the translation of nicknames in Shapiro's English translation of the Water margin, further reveals the perspective of Western reading.The perception of the nicknames of characters and their representative meanings in the eyes of foreign readers.
