[Abstract]:Since the 1990s, translation studies have begun to "cultural turn". Deconstruction translation theory and post-colonial translation theory have developed vigorously, which has had a strong impact on the traditional translation theory based on structuralism.Feminist translation theory plays a very important role in the process of subversion of traditional translation theory and construction of new translation theory.Feminist translation theory advocates the translator to intervene in translation practice actively and requires the translator to rewrite the text by feminism. In the process of translation, feminist translators tend to adopt some translation strategies, such as supplement, preface and footnote, hijack and so on, and interfere and rewrite the original work with feminist value orientation. From the perspective of feminist translation theory, this thesis makes a textual analysis of Zhou Zuoren's translation work, "Warrior Slave".Zhou Zuoren is one of the most famous prose writers in China since the first half of the 20th century.Zhou Zuoren is also a prolific translator. In his more than 60 years of translation career, his translation involves English literature, Russian literature, French literature and Japanese literature.More and more scholars have begun to study his translation theory and translation practice. However, according to the materials available to the author, no scholars have discussed his translation in combination with feminist translation theory. The thesis first discusses Zhou Zuoren's intention of translating the Warrior Slave.By analyzing the factors affecting Zhou Zuoren's intention to translate, including the early status of women in China, the nature and requirements of the magazine to be published in the translation will be analyzed. The subjectivity of Alibaba's translation thought and the opportunity of Zhou Zuoren's translation of Alibaba and the Forty Thieves, and so on, combined with the feminist intention advocated in feminist translation theory. It comes to the conclusion that the intention of Zhou Zuoren's translation of Chivalrous Slave is the intention of Feminism. Then, after comparing the original works with Zhou Zuoren's translation, the author concludes the translation strategy of Zhou Zuoren as adding preface, adding to it, hijacking, using female pseudonym and translating the translated title to "Warrior Slave", providing examples to prove it.Chivalrous Slave is the first work in Zhou Zuoren's translation career, the original of which is a story in the Arabian Nights.Zhou Zuoren is a male translator, but in the translation of Chivalrous Slave, he embodies a clear intention of "feminism" and adopts a preface, a supplement, and a hijack.Feminist translation strategies, such as the use of female pseudonyms and the translation of translated titles into "Warrior slaves", coincide with the requirements of feminist translation theory. This thesis explores the reasons for the formation of Zhou Zuoren's feminist translation ideas in translation of "Warrior Slave". As a male translator's choice of feminist translation strategies, it is found that not all female translators are feminist translators. Some male translators also embody firm feminist thoughts and hope to attract attention to Zhou Zuoren's feminist translation thoughts.
