率真与宽容——郁达夫论批评家之素质

【摘要】：正被誉为泰纳以后欧洲最大的批评家的丹麦文学史家勃兰兑斯说:"批评是人类心灵路上的指路牌。批评沿路种植了树篱,点燃了火把。批评披荆斩棘,开辟新路。因为,正是批评撼动了山岳——撼动了信仰权威的山岳,偏见的山岳,毫无思想的权力的山岳,死气沉沉的传统的山岳。"~((1))既然批评如此重要,那么,作为一个批评家,应该具备什么样的素质呢?郁达夫在《批评的态度》一文中,对此做了精辟的论述:
