中国古诗词中数词的英译——以许渊冲的英译本为例

【摘要】：中国古诗词是中华民族文化的精髓。数词在中国古诗词中发挥着重要作用。然而,考虑到诗词的文体特征、英汉文化差异以及数词的功能,古诗词中数词的翻译难度加大。中国古诗词中的数词可分为真实具体数词、模糊数词以及特殊数词。数词在诗歌中具有创造意境、展示意象、凸显情感、巧用修辞、增强韵律、叙述事件、抽象化具体和创造艺术效果等功能。以许渊冲的英译本为例,对古诗词中的数词可通过直译法、改译法和省略法进行有效翻译。
[Abstract]:Ancient Chinese poetry is the essence of Chinese culture. Numerals play an important role in ancient Chinese poetry. However, considering the stylistic features of poetry, the cultural differences between English and Chinese and the function of numerals, it is more difficult to translate numerals in ancient poetry. The numerals in ancient Chinese poetry can be divided into real concrete numerals, fuzzy numerals and special numerals. Numerals have the functions of creating artistic conception, displaying image, highlighting emotion, using rhetoric skillfully, strengthening prosody, narrating events, abstracting concrete and creating artistic effect. Taking the English translation of Xu Yuanchong as an example, the numerals in ancient poetry can be translated effectively by literal translation, modified translation and ellipsis.
