余光中《守夜人》诗歌自译之“传真”

　　余光中一生从事诗歌,散文,评论与翻译,称此四项为自己创作的“四度空间”。他涉猎甚广,但因诗名太盛,他的翻译成就被忽视。对于诗歌翻译,余光中在《翻译乃大道》一书中首先提出“诗歌翻译不折不扣是一门艺术,我们应该采用其他的名词,例如‘传真’来代替‘翻译’这两个字”。进而,他通过艾略特《三智士朝圣行》中的翻译,从“字句次序”,“用字”之文质,诗句之”长短”,“语法”与原文之“合”与“不合”等方面对翻译之“传真”进行阐述。余光中“传真”思想中所传之“真”涉及的问题可追根溯源到中国佛经翻译理论翻译本体的问题。道安早在“五失本,三不易”中指出翻译所失之“本”第一在“胡语尽倒,而使从秦”;第二在“胡经尚质,秦人好文,传可众心,非文不合”;其后三点分别为胡经中的“咏叹”,“义说”与“反腾前辞”。总结来说涉及句法顺序、语体和重复三个问题。余光中诗歌中所传之“真”与道安提出的佛经翻译中所失之“本”不尽相同,却有继承与发展。通过对余光中翻译论文和评论的总结与梳理,诗歌翻译中的“真”涉及三个方面:句法结构,包括句长和语序;诗歌韵律;诗歌语体。关于如何传真?通过对余光中唯一一部自译诗歌集《守夜人》的分析发现:余光...
