图里翻译规范理论视角下的《荆棘鸟》两中译本的比较研究

【摘要】：《荆棘鸟》是澳大利亚当代作家考琳·麦卡洛创作的一部家世小说,有澳大利亚的《飘》之誉。目前,在我国,关于《荆棘鸟》的中文译本主要有两版——1983年晓明、陈明锦版本和1990年曾胡版本。国内外学者对该小说的研究已有很多,但主要是人物性格及心理的刻画、小说中的意象与象征、爱情观,比较文学,女性主义,宗教这些方面进行了分析,从翻译角度来叙述的比较少。以色列学者吉迪恩·图里提出了翻译过程中的三种规范。他认为译者对于作品的选择,到翻译前决定的翻译策略,再到具体翻译过程中运用的翻译技巧,都是受到了诸多社会文化因素的制约和影响。本文以图里的翻译规范理论为框架,从初始规范(initial norms),预备规范(preliminary norms)和操作规范(operational norms)三个方面,通过对《荆棘鸟》两个中译本的比较分析,来探讨翻译规范对译本形成的影响,并且从描述性的角度对该作品译文在其他角度下已有的研究成果进行补充,以便对翻译现象进行更全面的审视,同时也可以更好的证明图里翻译规范理论的合理性和解释力。具体表现在分析两译本不同的翻译策略,不同的翻译方针,文章中对词语的区别翻译,脚注的多少以及段落的删减等各个方面。关于《荆棘鸟》,更多的研究关注的是原文,而不是它的中文译本。因此本文的翻译角度研究,为《荆棘鸟》的研究提供了一个较为崭新的视角,增强了对其两译本的理解和研究,加深了对图里翻译规范理论的理解,同时为今后的文学翻译提供了一定的借鉴意义。
