从斯托克，赖斯到梅尔笔下吸血鬼意象在哥特小说中的嬗变

吸血鬼是人类文明的智慧结晶。文学作品中的吸血鬼意象随着人类社会的发展而不断地改变着,同时也折射出不同时期人们生存状态和思维方式的变化。论文回顾了布拉姆·斯托克、安妮·赖斯和斯蒂芬斯·梅尔三位代表作家塑造的吸血鬼意象。论文由三个方面展开,分别是吸血鬼意象的外在特点和内在特点的演变,吸血鬼意象的隐喻演变以及吸血鬼意象的主题演变。在斯托克笔下,吸血鬼是一个嗜血狂魔的形象,他残暴地杀人来满足自己的欲望。而赖斯赋予了吸血鬼感情,她笔下的吸血鬼在人性与魔性之间苦苦挣扎,唤起了读者的同情。梅尔创造的吸血鬼形象几乎与普通人无异,甚至有着高于一般人的高贵品格,并且与人类缔造了浪漫的爱情。吸血鬼形象的演变也体现了不同时期社会文化的变化。斯托克笔下的吸血鬼代表了当时残酷的贵族阶级和野心勃勃的入侵者。赖斯笔下的吸血鬼家族映射着在现实生活中面临同样挣扎与孤独的边缘人。梅尔笔下的吸血鬼的爱情体现了人类对纯洁无暇的真爱的追求。尽管三部作品有着共同的主题,但是却展现了作者不同的观点。通过本文的研究,希望可以帮助读者更好地理解吸血鬼文学的深层含义,进而反思自己的人生。
