操纵理论视角下《长生殿》两个英译本的对比研究

本论文旨在阐明《长生殿》的两个英译本分别受到不同的操纵且两组译者相应地采取了不同的翻译策略,以致两译本有诸多不同之处。《长生殿》是由中国著名剧作家洪晟所著,它被誉为中国戏剧史上的一大杰作,具有丰富的文化内涵,是翻译家热衷翻译的文学作品之一。在其三个英译本当中,杨宪益夫妇与许渊冲父子的译本均受到目标读者的肯定并常作为翻译研究的对象,但两译本有着显著的差异。例如,杨译风格偏散文化,许译风格偏诗歌化;杨译的语言较多省略,具有浓厚的异域色彩,许译则倾向于在目的语中再现原文的“三美”。此外,杨和许将文本中的唱词分别翻译成自由体和韵律体。鉴于此,为了了解这些差异的深层次原因,对长生殿的两个英译本进行对比研究是必要且有价值的。20世纪70年代以来,“文化转向”得到了翻译研究领域愈来愈多的关注,翻译研究的着眼点也从文本本身转向语言外因素。作为文化学派代表之一的美国（原籍比利时）学者安德烈·勒菲弗尔（Andre Lefevere）将翻译视为对原作的改写,并提出了翻译操纵理论,将意识形态,诗学和赞助人视为任何翻译（改写）过程中的三个操纵因素。意识形态的操纵影响译者对原文本的选择,翻译策略的适用和具体翻译问...
