异化翻译理论指导下的《嫘祖故事》翻译实践报告

【摘要】：现今,地方文化的深度挖掘和传承是中国文化“走出去”的重要战略。有鉴于此,推行盐亭嫘祖地方文化有助于国内外读者了解四川历史文化,加强中国传统文化的对外传播。笔者参与了“中国传统文化外译工程项目”中《嫘祖故事》部分章节的中英翻译实践,并以此撰写了本篇翻译实践报告。《嫘祖故事》以故事为载体来传播民族文化,主要描写了嫘祖婚前养蚕植桑,缫丝制衣,抽丝编娟,婚后辅弼黄帝,帛化干戈,平息纷争的丰功伟绩。鉴于本书的文化传播用途以及文化文本的特点,本篇报告分析了《嫘祖故事》中文化和语言的异质性,以及如何运用韦努蒂的异化翻译理论解决翻译过程中出现的异质文化以及专有名词,四字成语和习语等难点问题。通过翻译实践以及报告分析,笔者发现在异化翻译理论的指导下采用音译,音译加注,直译等方法有效地保留了中国文化和语言在对外传播中的异质性;同时,归化策略作为补充手段保证了译文的可读性。此外,在《嫘祖故事》翻译项目的准备,翻译,评估等各个环节中,笔者认识到团队协作的重要性以及加深翻译理论学习,加强实践活动,积累背景知识的必要性。本文旨在拓宽嫘祖文化的研究视角、加强中国文化的对外传播与交流。
