【摘要】：《布鲁克林的荒唐事》是当代著名美国作家保罗·奥斯特关于"9.11"事件的反思之作。奥斯特不拘泥于对"9.11"事件本身的亲历性描述,而是以世纪之交生活在纽约布鲁克林等地的小人物的普通生活为内容,刻画其喜怒哀乐,彰显对和谐伦理关系的倡导以及人文关怀的吁求。多重地方书写对于主题的阐释和深化具有重要意义:作品中人物不但通过在纽约布鲁克林等地亲身体验"地方恐惧"和"地方依恋",深化认知,审视自我;他们还在揭示美国社会暴力本质的基础上,探寻在所居之地进行乌托邦式建构的合理性,并且感悟文学作为虚拟之地所具有的抚慰受伤心灵,促进心智成熟、完善自我成长的重要作用。
