【摘要】：《小城畸人》是19世纪末20世纪初美国小说家舍伍德·安德森的著名代表作和成名作,在这部小说里,安德森以自己细致的观察,深入美国中西部工业化过程中小镇居民的内心世界,表现他们的爱恨经历,他们的精神探索和追寻,他们的空虚、失落、迷茫乃至畸变、异化,塑造了“畸人”这一独特的人物群像,充分展现了文学史上“怪诞”这一艺术风格和表现方式。本文试图通过对安德森这部小说作品中一系列怪诞人物形象的梳理,探讨畸人的特征、成因、出路和他们身上独特的审美价值,分析“怪诞”在《小城畸人》中的具体应用,阐述安德森对时代背景下人的生存状态、精神状态的关怀和反思,这不仅具有文学史上的重要价值,更具有普遍的人本主义价值和社会、道德意义,这对于同样正在现代工业化进程中的中国中西部城镇,提供了某种启示和参考。论文分四个部分进行具体论述：第一章,指出《小城畸人》中的“畸人”(grotesques)即文学艺术中的怪诞人物,介绍“怪诞”作为一种早期的艺术风格到后来形成系统的文艺理论,它的起源、在中国的译介发展及其在西方文学作品和理论研究中的传播演变,通过梳理归纳,阐述文学领域中怪诞风格和怪诞人物的主要特征。第二章,结合文学史上怪诞人物的一般特征,具体分析《小城畸人》中怪诞人物形象的表现,主要通过丑陋怪异的外貌特征、滑稽可笑的语言对话、夸张反常的行为举止、奇幻古怪的精神世界、扭曲不协调的人物关系五个方面进行论述,虽然作品在具体人物刻画上各有侧重,却几乎涵盖了怪诞人物形象所有的表现方式。第三章,结合时代背景,深入畸人内心世界,具体探讨畸人的成因和出路,以更加深入了解怪诞人物,把握文学中“怪诞”的意义。其中第一节,分析工业化浪潮给美国中西部小镇带来的变革和影响、探讨传统宗教信仰及道德理想对畸人的束缚,指出畸人对自身的压抑与封闭,阐明小说中提出的真理与虚妄的悖论命题。第二节探讨了畸人的出路,对此,安德森并没有给出一个明确的答案,坚守孤独、等待死亡和逃离小镇是小说中畸人通常的选择。第四章,论述《小城畸人》中怪诞人物的审美价值,揭示“畸人”丑陋怪异背后美丽真诚的一面,论述“畸人”悲剧命运的重要启示作用,指出安德森塑造的“畸人”群像对研究美国中西部工业化进程的历史意义,对丰富怪诞文学创作和促进美国文学传承、现代主义文学发展的文学史意义。

The first chapter points out that "winsburg Ohio >" freak "(grotesques) the grotesque characters in literature and art, the" grotesque "as an early art style to later formed the system of literary theory, its origin, development and Chinese in translation in the western literary dissemination product and theory research in the evolution, through summarizing, describes the main features of the grotesque and grotesque characters in the literary field.

The fourth chapter discusses the aesthetic value of grotesque characters < winsburg Ohio >, reveals the "behind the grotesques" monstrous beautiful sincere, important inspiration on distorted people's tragic fate, Anderson pointed out that the shape of the grotesques in the midwestern United States on the industrialization process of historical significance, to enrich the grotesque literature to promote the creation and inheritance of American literature, modern literature history of literature significance.
