批评话语分析视角下《看不见的人》中主人公的身份解读

【摘要】：《看不见的人》作为拉尔夫·沃尔多·埃里森最重要的作品是现代美国文学史中的一部经典小说。小说讲述了一个美国黑人在白人社会的成长经历，全书主要写主人公迷失身份成为看不见的人和最后意识到自己的身份的过程。该作品描绘了美国黑人的生存困境，失去身份的迷茫和探寻身份的艰辛努力，阐述了以“看不见的人”为代表的美国黑人如何在白人的主流文化中确立自我的身份，以及梦想破灭后又如何建立自己的真正身份。批评话语分析最重要的理论基础和最主要的方法是来自于韩礼德的系统功能语言学，其分析目的是揭示语篇中含而不露的意识形态意义。Halliday概括了三大语言功能：概念功能、人际功能和语篇功能。概念功能指语言用于表达说话者的内部经验世界及其各事物之间的逻辑关系的功能，它主要由及物性系统来实现；人际功能指语言用于建立、维护和确立社会中人与人之间的关系的功能，主要通过语气和情态实现；语篇功能指语言将其本身与其使用者所处的情景环境相联系的功能，主要由主位—述位实现。Fowler等指出，在对语篇进行批评性分析时应特别注意考察及物性、情态、转换、分类和连贯性等蕴涵的意识形态意义。以往的对作品《看不见的人》的研究侧重于其文学语言，而在批评话语分析方面，则侧重用批评话语分析理论研究大众话语，很少有涉及到文学语言。因此，作者以批评话语分析理论为视角，利用系统功能语法理论作为分析框架，把作品中主人公的身份作为焦点，对作品中的语言进行分析，主要涉及分类、及物性、情态和转换四个方面。选取部分章节作为语料，使用软件Wordsmith和Word2003的查找功能及人工核查来统计词汇、及物性六种过程、情态和转化在作品中的频率，在此基础上，尝试分析作品中语言与主人公身份的联系，揭示这些话语背后所反映的20世纪50年代美国社会原貌及意识形态，并探索语言使用的变化是否会引起主人公身份的变化。本研究发现，作品中语言的使用能够揭示出主人公的身份及其变化，并能够反映当时社会的意识形态，，系统功能语法理论能够用来分析文学作品中的语言。本论文共分为五章，第一章简要介绍研究背景、语料介绍、研究目的、研究意义、研究方法、语料收集和论文框架。第二章为文献综述，主要综述前人对这部小说的研究及在批评话语分析和身份建构等领域的研究成果，并指出本研究的着眼点和创新点。第三章为文章的理论框架，主要介绍系统功能语法理论的构成、运作及分析模式，并提出本研究的分析框架，包括分类、及物性、情态和转换四个方面。第四章是论文的主体部分，依据第三章的理论框架节选小说中的部分段落，分层次分析作品中的语言和主人公的身份，并揭示语言背后所反映的社会现实和意识形态。第五章是论文的总结部分，主要总结研究的创新与发现、局限与不足及对未来研究的一些建议。
[Abstract]:Invisible Man , as Ralph Waldo Emerson ' s most important work , is a classic novel in the history of modern American literature . The novel tells a story about the growth of a black American in the white society . The novel describes the life dilemma of American blacks , the loss of identity and the arduous efforts to seek identity .

The most important theoretical foundation and the most important method to criticize discourse analysis is the system function linguistics from Hanover . The purpose of this analysis is to reveal the meaning of the ideology in the discourse .
Interpersonal function refers to the function of language used to establish , maintain and establish the relationship between the person and the person in society , mainly through tone and modal ;
The function of discourse function refers to the function of language linking itself to the context environment at which the user is located , which is mainly realized by the main bit - the said bit . Fowler et al . points out that in the critical analysis of the discourse , special attention should be paid to the ideological significance of investigation and physical property , modal , conversion , classification and coherence .

The second chapter is the main part of the paper , mainly introduces the structure , operation and analysis mode of the system function grammar theory , and points out the social reality and ideology reflected behind the language .
