温特森三部小说中无尽的文本与创伤的身体

【摘要】:《橘子不是唯一的水果》(1985)、《激情》(1987)与《写在身体上》(1992)是英国当代小说家珍妮特·温特森的三部代表作。书中作者不仅质疑了宗教、历史、科学这三种宏大叙事对身体的解读,而且试图在此前提下重构身体的含义。因而,这三部小说对于探究温特森如何在其作品中构建文本与身体的关系显得至关重要。 身体与叙事乃温特森作品中两大重要主题,评论界对此也多有探讨,但各批评家却多将其归入酷儿理论或后现代主义范畴进行研究,但这样的做法既将温特森标定为同性恋作家或后现代作家,也忽略了作者本人对于性别与现代主义文学的看法。因此,在温特森的小说中文本与身体的关系并非是一个闭合的回路,需要不断的解构文本使身体得到表述,而是一个动力系统。一方面,身体处于话语之中,且不可能在一个超文本的状态中得到表达;另一方面,所谓的宏大叙事只是一个自我阐发与证明的过程,因此“源文本”之说不能立足。从这两方面不难看出,文本于身体既有宏大叙事的威胁,使之单一化;又有微观叙事的重构,使之多样化。基于上述观点,本文认为在这三部小说中作者既解构了五旬教义、历史话语下的英雄主义与爱国主义、以及科学绝对权威等三大宏大叙事对身体的表述,又秉承了现代主义文风,发挥艺术自主性的特点重构创伤的身体。 本文主要分为三章进行论述: 第一章探讨了《橘子不是唯一的水果》中女性情欲在五旬教义下的压制。首先本章通过温特森在小说中申命记一章里的自我反射性的描述,揭露五旬教义宏大叙事的特点。其次,在此基础上分析作者如何质疑宗教对女性情欲的压制,并将这一伤害直接反映在小说中女性人物的身体上。最后本章指出温特森通过对《圣经》以及奇幻的戏仿重构女性情欲。 第二章着重讨论了《激情》中历史编撰的主观性对身体的限制。首先,本章运用琳达·哈钦的历史编撰原小说与其他新历史主义理论,再结合文本进行分析,揭示小说中拿破仑战争所强调的英雄主义与爱国主义的虚伪性。其次,结合上述分析,指出温特森抨击历史编撰的主观性对身体的伤害,例如战争中军人与妓女被规训的身体。最后,本章指出温特森运用魔幻现实主义,在历史中构建出一个奇幻的威尼斯,并在这一文本中重拾身体的自由。 第三章则讨论了《写在身体上》中身体如何被科学权威机械化。如前两章,本章首先结合文本对科学的真实性做出讨论,指出其谬误的特点。其后,通过文本细读,将分析温特森如何批评身体在科学权威下被赋予的解释,例如计算机化的进程对人体感觉器官的剥夺,或医学违背身体的整体性,主张切割治疗等。最后,通过归纳小说中穿插的另三个文本,如饮食文本中的情欲、医学文本中的身体地理坐标、诗歌中的感官记忆,本章将讨论温特森如何通过其自创的感官美学重构身体的活力。 总之,温特森在其小说中,通过文本重构了身体并使之亦如文本本身变得无法穷尽。不难发现,温特森未刻意遵守后现代对“文字游戏”的主张,重视广度而非深度,而是并将文本的多样性与身体进行结合,在解构与重构中不断穿梭,使其作品的意义纵向深入。因此,温特森既参照后现代主义的质疑态度,对附加于身体的宏大叙事进行解构,但却也未摒弃语言的指示功能。在她的作品中温特森将现代主义中的语言的指示系统与后现代中的文本的无穷尽结合起来,重新发现并抒写身体的含义。
[Abstract]:< orange is not the only fruit > (1985), "passion >" (1987) and < written in body > (1992) are the three representative works of Janet Winterson, a British contemporary novelist. The author not only questioned the interpretation of the three grand narrative to the body in religion, history and science, but also reconstructed the meaning of the body under this premise. Thus, the three novels. It is very important to explore how to set up the relationship between Wen and sen in his works.
There are two important themes in the works of the body and narration of the body and narration, and there are many discussions in the critics. However, many critics have studied it in the theory of queer or postmodernism. However, this approach not only demarcated Ne Winterson as a homosexual writer or a post-modern writer, but also ignored the author's own gender and modernism. Therefore, the relationship between the text and the body is not a closed loop in the novel of therson, which requires continuous deconstruction of the text to make the body expressed, but a dynamic system. On the one hand, the body is in the discourse, and it is impossible to express in a hypertext state; on the other hand, the so-called grand narrative. It is only a process of self elucidation and proof, so the theory of "source text" cannot be foothold. It is not difficult to see from these two aspects that the text is not only a threat to the grand narrative, but also the simplification of the text, and the reconstruction of the micronarrative is diversified. Based on the above views, the author considers that in these three novels the author has deconstructed the doctrines of five ten days, Under the historical discourse of heroism and patriotism, as well as the absolute authority of science, the three grand narrative to the body, also adhering to the modern style of writing, playing the characteristics of artistic autonomy to reconstruct the body of trauma.
This article is mainly divided into three chapters to discuss:
The first chapter discusses the suppression of the "orange is not the only fruit" under the five tenet of the feminine passion. First, this chapter reveals the characteristics of the grand narrative in the five ten day period by Winterson's self reflection in a chapter of the Deuteronomy in the novel. The third chapter discusses how the body is mechanized by the body of science. Then, through a detailed reading of the text, it will analyze how Winterson criticizes the explanation given by the body under the authority of science, such as the computerization.
