【摘要】：在传统的翻译研究中,翻译仅仅被看作为两种语言文字之间的相互转换,将原文看作译文的绝对标准。而由德国功能派翻译理论发展而来的目的论将翻译行为视为有目的的跨文化交际活动。翻译的目的不同、目标读者不同,翻译时所采取的策略和方法也应不同,换言之,翻译的目的决定翻译的方法。文本翻译在翻译过程中受到各种因素的综合制约,译文是否充分地实现了翻译的目的是评判翻译优劣的标准。这正是翻译目的论的基本思想。本文以德国功能主义的翻译目的论为主要理论基础,以五四时期翻译家赵景深和当代儿童文学家叶君健的《安徒生童话》两个译本为案例,从目的论的角度对《安徒生童话》译本的语言翻译进行研究。本文主要从译者目的、词汇翻译、句式翻译和修辞转换等方面进行了详细的对比研究,探讨两种译本所采用的翻译方法和翻译策略。研究表明,在翻译过程中,译者基于不同的翻译目的采取了不同的翻译策略,从而使译文呈现出不同的翻译风格,取得不同的翻译效果。总体而言,两种译本都实现了翻译的目的,基本满足了不同读者的需求,因此都被当代读者接受。本文精选《安徒生童话》两种译本中28个翻译实例进行了对比分析,得出如下结论: A.受时代背景和文化背景的影响,译者的翻译目的存在着差异。 B.由于不同的目的,译者在翻译过程中采取了不同的翻译手法,对特义词、称呼语和通俗用语等词语的翻译,对长短句的翻译和对比喻、讽刺、幽默和诗情用语等修辞的表现手法的处理有很大区别。 C.目的论对翻译行为有深远的指导意义。总之,对于一篇译作的评价不能只基于原文文本和译文文本之间单纯语言文字方面的对比,我们更应关注译文是否充分实现了翻译的目的,是否和当时的时代和文化背景相呼应,是否能够被当时的读者群所接受,从而做出更为全面、合理的评价。
