论文学翻译的科学性—从文体学的视角

【摘要】：作为连接语言学和文学批评的桥梁,近年来兴起于西方的文学文体学理论,为翻译理论与实践的研究开辟了一个新的视角。文学文体学特指以阐释文学文本的主题意义和美学价值为目的的文体学派,它集中讨论了作者如何通过语言的选择来表达和加强主题意义和美学效果。该理论对于阐释文学翻译的科学性有重要意义。纵观翻译理论界,许多学者由于过于强调文学翻译的艺术性而忽视甚至否定其科学性;然而艺术性和科学性是内在关联,不可分割的。借鉴文体学理论,通过大量实例分析,本文指出:文学翻译无论是从语言表层还是从整体效果看,只有以原文的主题意义和美学价值分析为基础,才能克服传统文学批评主观印象之不足,从而创造出既有艺术美感又忠实可信的译文;相反,若脱离主题意义和美学价值的分析,则极易造成假象对等的误译,即表面看来极具艺术性,实际却歪曲了原文真实的意义和艺术效果;文体分析理论通过对语言的分析为文学翻译的主观艺术创造提供了客观科学的方法和标准,是文学翻译艺术创造达到科学性和艺术性有机统一的重要保障。
[Abstract]:As a bridge between linguistics and literary criticism, literary stylistics, which has emerged in the West in recent years, has opened up a new perspective for the study of translation theory and practice. Literary stylistics refers to the stylistic school whose purpose is to explain the thematic meaning and aesthetic value of literary texts. It focuses on how the author expresses and strengthens the thematic meaning and aesthetic effect through the choice of language. This theory is of great significance to the interpretation of the scientific nature of literary translation. Throughout the field of translation theory, many scholars neglect or even deny the scientific nature of literary translation because they emphasize too much on the artistry of literary translation; however, artistry and scientificity are intrinsically related and inseparable. Based on stylistic theory and a large number of examples, this paper points out that literary translation can only be based on the analysis of the thematic meaning and aesthetic value of the original text, whether from the surface of language or from the overall effect. In order to overcome the shortcomings of subjective impressions of traditional literary criticism, we can create a translation that is both artistic and reliable. On the contrary, if we separate from the analysis of thematic meaning and aesthetic value, we can easily make false equivalent translation. That is to say, on the surface it looks very artistic, but it actually distorts the true meaning and artistic effect of the original text. The theory of stylistic analysis provides an objective and scientific method and standard for the subjective artistic creation of literary translation through the analysis of language. It is an important guarantee for the creation of literary translation art to be scientific and artistic.
