【摘要】：本文选取英国著名女作家简奥斯汀的处女作《理智与情感》及其三个较受欢迎的译本为研究对象，从宏观和微观两个方面探查作家精心的文体设计与其传达主题意义和美学效果的关系，特别运用文学文体学的研究方法，结合从译本中精选的含有突出文体特征的经典例句，从词汇、句法、话语引用、讽刺修辞手段四个层面，分析原文的文体设计和文学功用，对比评鉴各个译文在凸显主题意义方面的效力，同时探讨各翻译方法和方式的合理性。 本篇论文受申丹教授对于文学文体学与小说翻译的启发，响应其对这方面学术研究的号召，第一次将文学文体学的研究方法全面地运用于《理智与情感》这部小说的翻译讨论中。《理智与情感》这一小说通过睿智的对话，生动的人物形象，展现两姐妹的婚姻观和爱情路，小说中充满讽刺幽默的韵味，引人入胜，回味无穷。而各翻译版本对于这些主题价值的深化表现程度不一，而文中的语言现象及文体特征的用意值得思量，文学文体学的理论以其研究文学和语言学的双重特性为解决翻译过程中的“假象对等”问题，，再现文体风格的文学功用，突出加强主题意义提供了有效的途径。
