从事实假设逻辑观的角度对关联理论的尝试性探索

【摘要】：Sperber和Wilson的关联理论问世后,在语言学界引起巨大争议,以往对关联理论的批判基本都是从宏观角度进行的,从微观上探讨关联理论的文章却很少。事实性假设是构成关联理论中认知环境的基本要素,语言学界除了Sperber和Wilson自己,其他人对此甚少提及。对于事实性假设这一概念,Sperber和Wilson(2001,pp.76-79)提出了两种观点:功能观和逻辑观,并且赞同功能观,认为事实性假设仅由事件状态表征构成,人们对事实性假设的相信程度不是一个可量化的值。Sperber和Wilson在关联理论中将事实性假设的逻辑观与功能观进行对比论证,进而得出功能观优于逻辑观的结论;而本文的看法正好相反。本文首先指出Sperber和Wilson论据中存在的问题,然后具体论证了逻辑观的合理性、可行性及必要性,阐释了逻辑观的优点。由于事实性假设是关联理论的一个基本概念,支持事实性假设的逻辑观会直接影响到关联理论其他相关概念,因而本文进一步从事实性假设的逻辑观探讨了关联理论的其他相关概念。本文主要从以下三个方面进行探讨:1.事实性假设逻辑观的合理性;2.事实性假设逻辑观的优势;3.事实性假设逻辑观对关联理论的修正及发展。研究发现Sperber和Wilson对逻辑观的质疑并不成立,与功能观相比,逻辑观更合理,对事实性假设的阐释更全面更具体;从事实性假设逻辑观的角度对其他相关概念如认知语境、语境效果、推理等进行了相应的修正及发展,修正后的观点能够更好、更全面地阐释语言理解过程中涉及到的认知加工过程。
[Abstract]:After Sperber and Wilson's relevance theory came out, it caused great controversy in the field of linguistics. In the past, the criticism of relevance theory was basically carried out from a macro perspective, but there were few articles discussing relevance theory from the microscopic point of view. Factual hypothesis is the basic element of cognitive environment in relevance theory, which is seldom mentioned in linguists except Sperber and Wilson themselves. For the concept of factual hypothesis, Sperber and Wilsonian 2001pp.76-79, two viewpoints are put forward: functional view and logical view, and agree with functional view that factual hypothesis is only composed of event state representation. The degree of belief in factual hypothesis is not a quantifiable value. Sperber and Wilson compare the logic view and functional view of factual hypothesis in relevance theory, and then draw the conclusion that functional view is superior to logical view. The view of this article is just the opposite. This paper first points out the problems existing in the arguments of Sperber and Wilson, then proves the rationality, feasibility and necessity of the logic view, and explains the advantages of the logic view. Since factual hypothesis is a basic concept of relevance theory, the logical view supporting factual hypothesis will directly affect other related concepts of relevance theory. Therefore, this paper further discusses other relevant concepts of relevance theory from the logic view of factual hypothesis. This article mainly carries on the discussion from the following three aspects: 1. The rationality of the logic view of factual hypothesis. The advantage of the logic view of factual hypothesis is 3. The modification and development of relevance theory from the logic view of factual hypothesis. It is found that Sperber and Wilson doubt the logic view, and the logic view is more reasonable than the functional view, and the explanation of the factual hypothesis is more comprehensive and specific, and the other related concepts such as cognitive context are analyzed from the perspective of the logic view of the factual hypothesis. Contextual effects and reasoning have been revised and developed accordingly. The modified view can better and more comprehensively explain the cognitive process involved in the process of language understanding.
