逃逸与背离:语言与图像关系的再审视

【摘要】:语言与图像的关系一直是西方文艺理论的重要命题,达·芬奇及埃德蒙·伯克有关视觉艺术与听觉艺术的区分、莱辛有关时间艺术与空间艺术的区分、贡布里希有关自然符号与习俗符号的区分以及古德曼关于图画与段落的区分,基本上呈现了西方思想史中有关语言与图像关系问题的代表性观点。通过对这些人物及其思想的解读,可以发现,语言与图像之间更多的是逃逸与背离的关系,不仅仅呈现于意义层面,也呈现于接受方式、审美风格等方面。这种关系不仅展示了文化间固有的矛盾,也揭示了意识形态、权力利益等在理论家们形成捍卫语言或图像的思想过程中所起的作用,因此,不可能存在着彻底解决争端的统一性理论,只能让语词和图像展开深入、自由的对话。
[Abstract]:The relationship between language and image has always been an important proposition in western literary theories. Da Vinci and Edmund Burke distinguish between visual art and auditory art, and Lessing's distinction between time art and space art. Gonbridge's distinction between natural symbols and custom symbols and Goodman's distinction between pictures and paragraphs basically presents a representative view of the relationship between language and image in the history of Western thought. Through the interpretation of these characters and their thoughts, we can find that the relationship between language and image is more escape and deviation, not only in the meaning level, but also in the way of acceptance, aesthetic style and so on. This relationship not only reveals the inherent contradictions between cultures, but also reveals the role of ideology, power interests, etc., in the process of theorists forming ideas to defend language or images. It is impossible to have the unity theory of resolving disputes thoroughly. It can only make the words and images carry out deep and free dialogue.
