【摘要】：正如果想了解20世纪的文化活动,现代主义是文学与艺术史研究过程中极具价值和成效的概念,但在影视研究中,它却几乎行不通。除了彼得·福斯坦顿(Peter Verstraten)认为电影与现代主义之间没有任何联系之外,电影界更多学者也一直反对将电影史与其他古老的艺术形式史相提并论。~([1])电影艺术被排除在了现代主义的研究范围之外,也正因如此,电影新媒介的独特地位得以彰显。一、电影新媒介的特殊性
