《树叶裙》与《大屠杀圣母》:澳、英新俘虏叙述的比较分析

【摘要】：帕特里克·怀特的《树叶裙》和安吉拉·卡特的《大屠杀圣母》大致创作于同一时期,都讲述了一位白人女性在与土著群体短暂接触后又重返"文明"社会的故事。两部作品分别改写了英美文学史上的经典俘虏叙述,都着力描写女主人公的"土著化"过程。但参照后殖民理论的重要概念——"文化转换"可以看出两者在对土著文化的认识上存在着显著差异。《树叶裙》中的女主人公对土著的态度由被动接受到主动认同,其背后折射的是作家对这片土地以及自己作为澳大利亚人的身份的态度转变。土著文化在怀特眼中,只是这片土地"地之灵"的外化。《大屠杀圣母》则体现了卡特对土著文化积极一面的由衷欣赏,女主人公"土著化"的过程展现了借助土著文化对白人文化进行改造的无限可能性。
[Abstract]:Patrick White's Leaf skirt and Angela Carter's Lady of the Holocaust, written roughly at the same time, tell the story of a white woman returning to a "civilized" society after a brief contact with an indigenous group. The two works rewrote the classical captives narration in the history of British and American literature, and both of them focused on describing the process of the heroine's "aboriginal". However, referring to the important concept of post-colonial theory, "cultural transformation", we can see that there is a significant difference in the understanding of indigenous culture between the two. The heroine's attitude towards indigenous people in "leaf skirt" has changed from passive acceptance to active acceptance. Behind it is a shift in the writer's attitude towards the land and his identity as an Australian. In White's eyes, indigenous culture is only the externalization of this land, the Spirit of the Land. The Holocaust shows Carter's sincere appreciation of the positive side of aboriginal culture. The process of the heroine's "aboriginal" reveals the unlimited possibility of the transformation of white culture with the help of indigenous culture.
