叙事学视野下的尼克与杰克在各自作品中叙事功能分析

【摘要】：1925年,菲茨杰拉德的名作《了不起的盖茨比》出版,确立了他在现代美国文学史上的地位。1926年,《太阳照常升起》出版,这是海明威的第一部长篇小说,确立了“冰山理论”这一独特的叙事手法,被认为是“迷惘的一代”的代表作之一。美国在一战中通过销售武器大发横财,经济突飞猛进。作为“迷惘的一代”的杰出作家,菲茨杰拉德和海明威的作品都表现出美国在战后经济高度繁荣而人们的精神却是极度空虚这种社会怪态,谴责了严重摧残青年一代身体及精神的帝国主义战争。论文试图结合叙事学理论中的聚焦模式原理,通过对《了不起的盖茨比》中的人物尼克·卡罗威与《太阳照常升起》中的主人公杰克·巴恩斯所承担的叙事功能进行比较,分析他们的异同点,并进一步阐述他们在各自作品叙述中所发挥的作用。论文第一章简述叙事学原理和相关理论,简要介绍叙事学的演变发展及其基本内容。第二章从叙事学角度对《了不起的盖茨比》进行具体分析。首先对这部作品进行简要介绍,然后从叙事人称、叙事聚焦和叙事方式三方面对这部作品进行分析。第三章运用叙事学的理论来解读《太阳照常升起》。首先简单介绍作品,然后对作品的叙事特点加以分析。第四章将重点对两部作品中叙述者的功能进行比较分析。本章分三部分展开论述,第一部分将对尼克的叙事功能进行论述,第二部分对杰克的叙事功能进行分析和研究,第三部分比较他们所承担叙事功能的异同点,并进一步阐述他们在各自作品叙述中发挥的作用。最后一章将对两位作家叙事艺术的审美价值和审美意义进行分析。两位作家将自己的亲身经历以及对生活的感触融入到作品中,创作出了具有自传色彩的作品,语言优美、叙事风格独特。结语部分总结了两部作品中叙述者在作品中承担的叙事功能,并指出两部作品所揭示的审美意义。他们的作品还展示出深刻的现实意义。他们作品的主旨并不是让人囿于人物所呈现出来的迷惘、消沉氛围,而是让人体会到生活的真谛；梦想的实现与达成不能仅靠幻想,更不能一味地沉湎于痛苦迷茫与不能自拔,而应该脚踏实地,冲破艰难险阻,奋勇前行。
[Abstract]:In 1925, Fitzgerald's masterpiece, "great Gatsby >" was published, established his position in the history of modern American literature for.1926, "the sun is rising and publishing". This is Hemingway's first novel, which establishes the unique narrative technique of "Iceberg Theory", which is regarded as one of the representative works of the "lost generation". As an outstanding writer of the "lost generation", Fitzgerald and Hemingway, an outstanding writer of the "lost generation", showed that the United States was highly prosperous in the post-war economy while the spirit of the people was extremely empty, which condemned the Empire and the spirit of the youth. The thesis tries to analyze their similarities and differences by comparing the narrative functions of the characters Nick Calloway in the great Gatsby and the protagonist Jack Barnes in the "the sun as usual", combining the focusing mode principle in the theory of narratology, and further expounds their similarities and differences in their respective works. The first chapter of the paper describes the principles and related theories of narratology, briefly introduces the evolution and development of narratology and its basic content. The second chapter makes a specific analysis of the great Gatsby from the perspective of narratology. First of all, it gives a brief introduction to this work, and then from the narration person, the narrative focus and the narrative way of the three parties. The third chapter uses the theory of narratology to interpret the sun as usual rising >. First, it introduces the works briefly, and then analyzes the narrative features of the works. The fourth chapter will focus on the comparison and analysis of the functions of the narrators in the two works. This chapter is divided into three parts, and the first part will be the narrative function of Nick. The second part analyzes and studies the narrative function of Jack. The third part compares the similarities and differences between their narrative functions and further expounds their role in the narrative of their respective works. The last chapter will analyze the aesthetic value and aesthetic significance of the narrative art of the two writers. The two writers will be themselves. The personal experience and the feelings of life are integrated into the works, creating an autobiographical work, with beautiful language and unique narrative style. The concluding part summarizes the narrative functions of the narrators in the works of the two works, and points out the aesthetic significance of the two works. Their works also show the profound reality. The purpose of their works is not to let people be constrained by the lost and depressed atmosphere of the characters, but to make people realize the true meaning of life; the realization and achievement of the dream can not be achieved only by fantasy, but can not indulge in the confused and incapable of suffering, but should step on the ground, break through difficulties and dangers and go forward bravely.
