[Abstract]:Henry Ross is one of the greatest American Jewish writers and a famous American Jewish master of literature. Ross's first novel, his masterpiece, is said to be sleeping, published in 1934, and was ranked the best one hundred English words in the world from 1923 to 2005, known as "the representative works of American Jewish Literature". From the perspective of an American Jewish immigrant child, the author gives a detailed description of the living situation and cultural predicament of Jewish immigrants in the United States, especially the painful experience of David, the hero of the novel. The novel has been out of sight after the publication of the novel, and has been unearthed by readers after thirty years, and the comments and studies have gradually increased. This classic book is gradually known. Western scholars have studied this novel earlier. However, such an excellent work is still unknown in our country and its value has not been better excavated and used. A variety of misfortunes and miseries in the process of the growth of public David and their family, parents, religion, environment and society are analyzed. The author's description of the psychological development of David in his works is very similar to Lacan's mirror theory, so this thesis starts with the theory of Lacan's mirror stage and presents the master of the novel. The predicament and self redemption of the male David in the process of growing up, explain the causes of David's troubles and contradictions in the process of growth, and analyze the influence of the other on David. In view of the cause of David's growth and the concrete manifestation of the mirror stage, the author will help the hero David seek out the way out of the growth trouble. Lacan's mirror image The stage theory has an important inspiration for people to accurately analyze and locate themselves, as well as to reconstruct their self identity. It has an inspiration for people to continue to identify themselves and effectively regulate the relationship between themselves and the surrounding society. This thesis is important to explore the determinants of the process of growth and the method of self identity reconstruction. This paper consists of three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The main contents are as follows: first, the first part is the introduction. First, a brief introduction to the writer Henry Ross's life and his works is asleep, followed by a psychoanalyst, Jacques Lacan and his mirror stage theory, and the final literature review. A systematic description of the current research status of scholars at home and abroad, and the perspective of the study and the value and significance of the study. The second part is the body part, including three chapters: the first chapter is to say that the works < is asleep > >, which reflects the annoyance of the protagonist David in the process of the mirror image. Through the theory of Lacan's mirror stage, this paper analyzes David's performance in the pre mirror stage, including the disharmony of his body, the disharmony of family relations and the lack of self identity, and the role it plays in the stage of the later mirror image. The second chapter analyzes the causes of David's growing pains. The mirror "other" factor and its performance, that is, the perplexity brought by the immigrant life, plunged into the growing increase of "Oedipus complex" and the suppressed desire. From the living environment, religious belief, language and culture, family relations and other aspects of the in-depth analysis of the process of growth affecting David's crucial other. The third chapter I through the analysis of the needle The causes of David's growing pains and plight, and the result of the heroine's own attempt to rebuild their identity, analyze and summarize the possible way out of David's growth, including breaking the bondage of the mirror, accepting the real "self" in the post mirror stage and improving the relationship between the "other" and the spirit and body of David. The final part is the conclusion of the "rebirth" in the body. The last part is the conclusion. This part first summarizes the full text, and then points out the theme of this paper. David's growth process, due to the influence of the false mirror of the mirror stage process, leads to the tragedy of self loss and psychological imbalance in the process of growth. "Wake up" means to get out of the possibility of growing up, and the difficulty of getting out of this kind of growth needs to be rebuilt by accepting the real "self" that is not affected by the mirror image, improving the relationship with the other and breaking the mirror and other ways to reconstruct the self. The contents of the chapter are described and the feasibility of the way out of the dilemma provided by the open ending of the novel is analyzed.
