[Abstract]:Over the past decade or so, imagination has returned from exile and entered the vocabulary of scholars. Like its long-humiliated sister, sympathy, empathy, beauty, humanitarianism, cosmopolitanism, and universalism, imagination is exempt from one false charge, while accepting social and political functions.
