男性气质的危机与建构——以欧茨小说《奇境》为例

【摘要】：欧茨的长篇小说《奇境》讲述了以杰西为代表的美国男性在二战前后近40年间的传奇人生,杰西身份的多次转换体现了男性气质的多元性和社会实践性。小说通过叙述男性在征服"他者"的同时纷纷陷入困境或自我毁灭的深渊,揭示了父权制社会男性角色的局限性。故事中女性的反抗昭示着支配性男性气质面临的危机与挑战,隐含了欧茨对新的社会历史文化背景下理想男性气质建构的期待。
[Abstract]:Oates' novel Wonderland tells the legendary life of American men, represented by Jesse, during the last 40 years before and after World War II. The many changes of Jesse's identity reflect the pluralism and social practicality of masculinity. The novel reveals the limitations of male roles in patriarchal society by recounting that men have fallen into a dilemma or an abyss of self-destruction while conquering the other. The female resistance in the story shows the crisis and challenge faced by the dominant masculine temperament, and implies Oates' expectation for the construction of ideal masculine temperament under the new social, historical and cultural background.
