迷失与复原：《最蓝的眼睛》与《上帝救助孩子》中的童年创伤

作为美国历史上首位获得诺贝尔文学奖的黑人女作家,托妮·莫里森在当代美国乃至全世界都享有盛誉。其作品大都通过描述美国黑人的创伤经历,真实地展现了他们艰难的生活境遇。《最蓝的眼睛》和《上帝救助孩子》分别是莫里森的处女作和最新一部作品。这两部小说从童年创伤角度入手,探讨童年创伤对儿童成长带来的影响,向读者揭示了美国社会中存在的种种问题。本文以创伤理论为基础,对两部作品中人物遭受的童年创伤做了详细的分析,并对比二者创伤产生的不同结果,结合创伤与复原理论分别探讨了前者创伤复原失败和后者成功的原因。《最蓝的眼睛》中佩科拉主要遭受来自文化、家庭和社会三个方面的创伤。由于未能与外界建立联系,并且没有合适的倾听者给她正确的指引,佩科拉最终迷失自我,走向毁灭的深渊。而在《上帝救助孩子》中,主人公除了受到来自文化和家庭的创伤外,对儿童的性侵犯成为故事中人物创伤的来源之一。在遭遇一系列的创伤后,男女主人公通过重建安全感并找到合适的倾听者诉说伤痛的往事,最终找回自我,变得独立和自信,微笑迎接新生活。在这两部作品中,莫里森从不同的角度揭示了她对黑人治疗创伤的理解:黑人只有保留和发展本民族文化,才能修复创伤,找回自...
