“客观对应物”理论在艾略特早期诗歌中的应用

【摘要】:托马斯·史登斯·艾略特(1888-1965),是二十世纪伟大的诗人、评论家和剧作家。作为文学创作的先锋,他为现代诗歌的发展开辟了一条新的道路。他的诗歌与诗学理论不仅在当时产生了很大的影响,而且一直延续至今。他早期著名的诗学理论包括“传统观”、“非个性化”理论及“客观对应物”理论等都在其诗歌创作中有所体现。鉴于“客观对应物”理论还没有过系统的研究,其早期诗歌在国内的研究不足,因此本文探析了“客观对应物”理论的起源,尝试以新的角度—“客观对应物”理论的运用,来研究艾略特的早期诗歌,具体分析奇思妙喻、典故及象征三种最具代表性的“客观对应物”的运用以及产生的效果。 “客观对应物”理论的提出不是偶然的,它源于艾略特所受的教育,包括哲学研究、广泛的阅读古代诗人与现代诗人的作品,如但丁、玄学诗人、法国象征主义诗人,还有庞德等。另外,这一理论不是孤立存在的,它与艾略特的其他诗学理论密切相关,尤其“传统观”与“非个性化”理论两者都是“客观对应物”理论的铺垫。艾略特很注重传统,他善于从传统中发现诗歌创作的武器。而“客观对应物”就是一个对抗浪漫主义诗歌感情模糊的有力武器。通过使用玄学派奇思妙喻、典故以及象征等“客观对应物”,非个性化的目标就得以实现。当然,不同的手法会产生不同的效果,因此这三种手法所产生的效果会分别加以阐释。 本文包含四章。第一章是绪论,包括三个部分,首先介绍艾略特的生平与作品以及艾略特早期诗歌的内容与特征;其次,分类介绍国内外有关艾略特研究的文献综述;最后,说明本文的结构及内容梗概。第二章围绕“客观对应物”理论展开,分为两个部分。一,从艾略特的教育背景,浪漫主义诗歌的衰落,影响早期艾略特的几个重要流派,以及艾略特先前所提出的诗学理论四方面探索“客观对应物”理论的渊源;二,介绍“客观对应物”理论的提出及其内容,并分析艾略特提出这一理论的目的。第三章是主体部分,从奇思妙喻、典故和象征三种手法来阐述“客观对应物”理论在其早期诗歌中的运用,并且结合具体例子阐释各个手法作为“客观对应物”所产生的效果。第四章是结论,主要分为两个部分,首先,总结“客观对应物”理论的渊源和目的,概括三种典型的“客观对应物”在艾略特早期诗歌中的运用情况,以及比较三种“客观对应物”所产生的效果的异同。其次,,探究了研究存在的局限性。
[Abstract]:Thomas Stennes Elliot was a great poet, critic, and playwright in 20th century. He was a pioneer in literary creation. He opened a new way for the development of modern poetry. His theory of poetry and poetics not only had a great influence at that time, His early famous poetic theories, such as "traditional view", "non-individualized" theory and "objective counterpart" theory, have been reflected in his poetry creation. There has been systematic research. Therefore, this paper explores the origin of the theory of "objective counterpart" and tries to study Elliot's early poetry from a new angle-the application of the theory of "objective counterpart". Allusions and symbols of the three most representative of the use of "objective counterpart" and the effect. The theory of "objective counterpart" was not put forward by accident. It originated from Eliot's education, including philosophical studies, extensive reading of the works of ancient and modern poets, such as Dante, metaphysical poets, and French symbolist poets. Besides, this theory is not isolated, it is closely related to Elliott's other poetic theories. In particular, both the "traditional view" and the "non-individualized" theory are the paves of the "objective counterpart" theory. Eliot attaches great importance to the tradition. He is good at discovering the weapon of poetry creation from tradition. "objective counterpart" is a powerful weapon against romantic poetry. The objective counterpart, such as allusion and symbolism, can be realized. Of course, different methods will produce different effects, so the effects of these three methods will be explained separately. This paper consists of four chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, which includes three parts: first, it introduces Eliot's life and works, and the contents and characteristics of Eliot's early poems; secondly, it classifies and introduces the literature review of Eliot research at home and abroad. The second chapter focuses on the theory of "objective counterpart", which is divided into two parts. First, from Eliot's educational background, the decline of Romantic poetry, the influence of early Elliott's several important schools, It also explores the origin of the theory of "objective counterpart" in four aspects of Elliott's previous poetics theory. Secondly, it introduces the proposition and content of the theory of "objective counterpart". And the purpose of Eliot's theory is analyzed. The third chapter is the main part, which expounds the application of "objective counterpart" theory in his early poetry from three methods: mysterious metaphor, allusions and symbolism. Chapter 4th is the conclusion, which is divided into two parts. Firstly, the origin and purpose of the theory of "objective counterpart" are summarized. This paper summarizes the application of three typical "objective equivalents" in Elliott's early poems, and compares the similarities and differences of the effects of the three types of "objective equivalents". Secondly, it explores the limitations of the study.
