[Abstract]:Alice Walker is a very famous African-American woman writer and poet in the literary world. She is still active in the literary world today. Walker's third novel, Purple, 1982) has brought her many honors. In 1983, Walker won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for his work and became the first black woman writer to win the award. The work also won the National Book Award. This paper is designed to give a deeper account of Purple. Previous researchers have mostly started from feminism. The author will analyze the novel from the perspective of personality development and eco-feminism. The author will not only analyze the protagonist's process from obedience to awakening, to resistance, to self-reflection and finally conciliatory with Mr. X, using the method of close reading of the text. It also analyzes the introspection and reconciliation of other black people and the process of reconciliation between black and white people. For example, Celia's emphasis on the family as always, and the final reconciliation between Celia and her husband, The self-reflection of black men and the awakening and self-reflection of Celia.
