接合理论下《雪花秘扇》的文化解读

【摘要】:美国知名华裔小说家邝丽莎所著的《雪花秘扇》讲述了在19世纪中国湖南江永县,百合及雪花一对老同之间一生的起伏,其中缠足的细节及女性角色用以交流的女书,令西方读者十分着迷。尽管邝丽莎为了该书的写作做了大量的实地调查,并且凭借其发表的若干以中国为主题的小说扬名海内外,但有一个问题一直困扰着她的读者:在《雪花秘扇》中,邝丽莎是否完整地为中国文化发声了呢? 本文采用斯图亚特·霍尔的接合理论分析该小说中中国文化如何被接合-去接合-再接合,并指出邝丽莎在接合的动态过程之上成功地建立了富有成效的文化连接。本文分为五个章节:引言部分阐述了霍尔接合理论是一个打破和建立连接的动态过程,并解释了其发声和接合的双重涵义。第一章集中讨论接合理论的第一阶段,解释邝丽莎如何确定发声主体及发声客体。第二章探索接合理论的第二阶段一去接合,解释中国文化元素是如何被邝丽莎两极化、选择化及替代化的。第三章阐述接合理论的第三阶段一再接合。在某些跨文化交流的节点邝丽莎打破了文化接合,但是这样的去接合过程为两种不同的文化建立新连接和赋予新涵义提供前提条件。因此,结论部分提出文化并不是一个静态的存在,而是一个开放的、动态的“接合-去接合-再接合”过程。我们应当将跨文化交流重新定位为一个接合差异、创造文化新连接新空间的生成过程。
[Abstract]:"Snowflake Secret Fan" by American famous Chinese novelist Lisa Kwong tells the story of the ups and downs of life between lily and snowflake in Jiangyong County, Hunan Province in the 19th century, in which the details of foot-binding and female characters are used to communicate with each other. It captivates Western readers. Although Kuang has done a lot of field research for her book, and is famous at home and abroad for a number of novels about China published by her, there is one problem that has plagued her readers: in Snow Flower, the Secret Fan. Did Lisa Kwong speak for Chinese culture in its entirety? This paper uses Stuart Hall's theory of joint to analyze how the Chinese culture in the novel is jointed, dejocated and rejointed, and points out that Kuang Lisa has successfully established a fruitful cultural connection based on the dynamic process of jointing. This paper is divided into five chapters: the introduction explains that Hall's joint theory is a dynamic process of breaking and establishing connection, and explains its dual meaning of voice and joint. The first chapter focuses on the first stage of the theory of articulation, explaining how Kuang Lisa determines the subject and object of vocalization. Chapter two explores the second stage of the theory of jointing, which explains how the elements of Chinese culture are polarized, selected and replaced by Kuang Lisa. The third chapter describes the third stage of the theory of joint again and again. In some cross-cultural communication nodes, Kuang Lisa broke the cultural bond, but this process of de-articulation provides a prerequisite for two different cultures to establish new connections and give new meanings. Therefore, the conclusion points out that culture is not a static existence, but an open and dynamic process. We should reposition cross-cultural communication as a process of connecting differences and creating new cultural connections and new spaces.
