论谭恩美小说中的身份书写

【摘要】:谭恩美是美国著名华裔作家,因1989年出版《喜福会》而名声大噪,至今一共创作六部小说,描写了第一代中国移民母亲和她们的华裔女儿在美国的生存状态和心路历程。随着谭恩美对中美文化的理解和对家族历史的发现,她笔下的华裔母女对身份认同在不断发生变化,因此需要采取一种变动的视野来关照其笔下的人物。本文将运用后殖民理论和文化批评理论对谭恩美的六部小说进行分析,指出作者不断重写华裔母女身份认同的过程是对华裔身份意义的增补,是不断处于变化中的。论文主体包括四部分:第一部分从谭恩美个人经历出发,分析她本人对华裔身份认同过程以及她的创作心理的转变。第二部分分析华裔母女试图进入中美文化的艰辛和受挫。她们想进入美国主流社会却被拒绝,想融入中国文化却又迟疑,处于中美文化夹缝中她们不断解构又重构“华裔美国身份”。第三部分指出谭恩美为她笔下的华裔人物构建多重身份的文化主体,显现出身份认同的“混杂性”,这是一种对中美文化双重暖昧和双重疏离的状态。第四部分指出作者在重构华裔身份时采取的书写策略。论文从谭恩美的自传式作品出发,采取一种后现代的解读方式,探索作者笔下的华裔人物在了解身份认同的建构性特征后显现出身份认同的混血状态,以及最终形成的多重身份文化主体,同时作者的写作也是寻找和构建自己华裔身份的历程。
[Abstract]:Amy Tan, a famous American writer of Chinese descent, is famous for her publication of Joy Luck Club in 1989. Up to now, she has written six novels, describing the living conditions and mental course of the first generation of Chinese immigrant mothers and their Chinese daughters in the United States. With Amy Tan's understanding of Chinese and American culture and the discovery of her family history, her Chinese mother and daughter's identity is constantly changing, so it is necessary to take a changing perspective to take care of her characters. This paper analyzes Amy Tan's six novels by using postcolonial theory and cultural criticism theory, and points out that the author's process of rewriting the identity of Chinese mother and daughter is a supplement to the meaning of Chinese identity and is constantly changing. The main body of the thesis consists of four parts: the first part analyzes Amy Tan's process of Chinese identity and the change of her creative psychology from her personal experience. The second part analyzes the hardship and frustration of Chinese mother and daughter trying to enter Chinese-American culture. They want to enter the mainstream society of the United States but are refused, want to integrate into Chinese culture but hesitate, in the gap between Chinese and American culture, they constantly deconstruct and reconstruct the "Chinese American identity". The third part points out that Amy Tan constructs the cultural subject of multiple identities for the Chinese characters in her works, which shows the "confounding nature" of identity, which is a state of double ignorance and alienation of Chinese and American culture. The fourth part points out the writing strategies adopted by the author in reconstructing the Chinese identity. Proceeding from Amy Tan's autobiographical works, this paper adopts a post-modern interpretation method to explore the mixed ethnic identity state of the Chinese characters in the author's works after understanding the constructive characteristics of identity. At the same time, the author's writing is the course of seeking and constructing his Chinese identity.
