严歌苓小说中的生存困境与救赎意识

【摘要】:严歌苓是著名的北美新移民小说家,她在海外华文文学史上占据着重要的地位。本篇论文以严歌苓的小说作品为主要研究对象,对其进行了系统地分析并认为:严歌苓文学创作的成功,不仅仅是取决于作品艺术手法上的成功,更大程度上是取决于作家所构建的精神世界以及深刻的现实人文关怀。严歌苓小说作品中的主人公以病残者、假婚者、海外妓女等为主,后期的作品更是关注到同性恋这一“边缘”人群。主人公们面对着各种各样的困境,直面命运的无奈、悲哀与无止尽的孤独感,代表着面对着同样的生存困境的广大人群。 严歌苓执着地关注着人类生存的困境,并在小说中表现为四大类:情感失落中的孤独、历史记忆中的苦痛、文化差异中的迷惘、两性冲突中的女性弱者境遇。在直面人类或是与生俱来的,或是时代造成的生存困境的时候,严歌苓并为局限于客观呈现生存困境,而是怀着一种作为文人的责任感,以女性特有的细腻情感、以人道主义的眼光来探索救赎之路。严歌苓主动地承担起拯救苦痛灵魂的责任,为人们寻找走出现实生存困境的突破口,为挣扎在生存困境中的人民寻找幸福与期望。所以,在文学作品中,严歌苓塑造了一系列人物性格来传达她的救赎意识:少女小渔、小姨多鹤、妓女扶桑、赵玉墨、知青文秀、神父英格曼以及法比等等,严歌苓借由这些复杂又单纯、卑贱又高尚地活着,从骨子里透出一股狠劲的典型人物性格传达出自己的救赎意识:“爱”的救赎、自我救赎、文化救赎。她认为要用“爱”来进行救赎即笔者在论述中所归纳为“情感救赎”,“情感救赎”是指仁慈、宽恕与博爱,这三点促进了人与人之间的包容感,最终达到情感的满足;自我救赎是要以肉体的毁灭,从而追寻精神重生,为在面对女性弱者地位与对历史无能为力的困境之时,突破身体与历史时空的局限,达到自我解放与自我救赎;文化救赎强调要以“弃其糟粕,取其精华”的文化救赎意识,来逐步平衡不同文化的冲突,消除文化之间的隔膜,使人们尽情享受文化带来的乐趣。
[Abstract]:Yan Geling is a famous North American immigrant novelist who occupies an important position in the history of overseas Chinese literature. This paper takes Yan Geling's novel works as the main research object, and analyzes it systematically and thinks that the success of Yan Geling's literary creation depends not only on the success of his works, but also on his artistic techniques. To a greater extent, it depends on the spiritual world constructed by the writer and the profound humanistic concern of reality. The main protagonists in Yan Geling's novels are the sick and disabled, false marriages, overseas prostitutes, etc. Later works focus on the "marginal" crowd of homosexuality. The protagonists are facing all kinds of difficulties, facing the helpless fate, sadness and endless loneliness, representing the same living plight of the broad masses of people. Yan Geling pays close attention to the plight of human existence and shows four major categories in the novel: loneliness in emotional loss, pain in historical memory, confusion in cultural differences, and the situation of the female weak in the conflict between the sexes. In the face of human beings or born with or caused by the times of survival difficulties, Yan Geling and in order to be confined to the objective presentation of the plight of existence, but with a sense of responsibility as literati, with a feminine unique delicate feelings, Explore the road of salvation from a humanitarian point of view. Yan Geling takes the initiative to take the responsibility of saving the suffering soul, to find a way out of the plight of real life for people, to find happiness and expectations for the people struggling in the plight of survival. Therefore, in literary works, Yan Geling molds a series of characters to convey her sense of redemption: young girl fishing, aunt Duohe, prostitute Fusang, Zhao Yumo, educated youth Wenxiu, Father Ingmar and Fabi, and so on. Yan Geling lives with these complicated, simple, humble and noble characters, and conveys his redemption consciousness of "love", self-redemption and cultural redemption. She thinks that we should use "love" to redeem, that is, the author summed up "emotional redemption" in the discourse, "emotional redemption" refers to kindness, forgiveness and fraternity, these three promote the sense of tolerance between people, and finally achieve emotional satisfaction; Self-redemption is the destruction of the body and the pursuit of spiritual rebirth, in order to break through the limitations of body and historical time and space and achieve self-emancipation and self-redemption in the face of the plight of the female weak and powerless in history. Cultural redemption emphasizes the idea of "abandoning its dregs and choosing its essence" to gradually balance the conflict between different cultures, eliminate the gap between cultures, and make people enjoy the fun brought by culture.
