保罗：清晰镜像自我的追寻者

【摘要】：突破传统的写作手法和敢于探索暴力与性等敏感话题的勇气例劳伦斯成为公认的现代天才作家之一。尽管大胆直白的文风一开始并没得到人们的理解与接受,其作品的真正价值却逐渐得到认可。劳伦斯洞悉人性,并通过心理描写充分展现在小说中。《儿子与情人》作为劳伦斯最具影响力的代表作,成功塑造了一位寻求清晰镜中自我的迷失年轻人形象。 《儿子与情人》自出版以来颇受争议,同时也掀起一股研究热。本论文以前人研究为基础,旨在从社会心理学的角度分析主人翁保罗面临的心理问题及解决该问题做出的尝试。介于劳伦斯的社会意识和对心理的关注,本论文将个人经历与社会背景结合,对此进行探讨。 论文分为三个部分：引言,三个章节及结语。第一章分析导致保罗所照镜子不清晰的原因。根据C.H.库里的“镜中自我”理论,个人所处的大环境,特别是与之接触的人,宛若一面镜子。人能透过这面镜子观察自己。然而工人阶级的家庭背景使保罗很难了解上层社会。成长于穷苦矿工家庭意味着缺乏教育,丧失了许多机会。保罗也因此遭到富人的冷落与偏见。资本主义环境下穷人辛苦挣扎,无心关心彼此。纵使足与保罗关系亲密的父母、恋人,均各有心事,无法更好的了解保罗。因此无论是透过上层社会还是工人阶级,这而镜子均不清楚。第二章讨论保罗从“重要人物”父母及恋人处看到的自我形象。不过所见形象有所矛盾,令保罗十分困惑。通过父亲保罗看到的只是一个可有可无的年轻人形象。而通过母亲看到的则是一位拥有诸多美德的好儿子。然而,因年龄代沟,母亲越来越难以理解儿子。至于二位情人,一开始均被保罗个人魅力吸引。但随着关系深入,逐渐认识到对方是位不负责任的年轻人。由于急切想看清自己,保罗必然有所反应。第三章主要试图讨论保罗对此做出的尝试。虽然努力攀爬社会阶梯,整个社会大背景注定保罗无法如愿以偿。尝试亲近女性,特别是二位情人,想与之灵肉结合。但性别与责任差异成了失败的根源。转向绘画,希望通过艺术被人了解,依然以失败告终。所以保罗做出的所有努力均未如愿。 通过小说《儿子与情人》,劳伦斯向读者展示了社会背景下人的悲剧。小说不仅反映了作者所处时代与社会,对现代社会也具有指导意义。说明社会环境对个人心理发展起着至关重要的作用。
[Abstract]:Breaking through traditional writing techniques and daring to explore sensitive topics such as violence and sexuality Lawrence has become one of the recognized modern geniuses. Although the bold and straightforward style was not understood and accepted at first, the true value of his works was gradually recognized. As Lawrence's most influential masterpiece, the son and lover, as his most influential masterpiece, has successfully shaped the image of a lost young man seeking himself in a clear mirror. Sons and Lovers have been controversial since they were published, and there has also been a boom in research. Based on previous studies, this thesis aims to analyze the psychological problems faced by Paul, the main character, and try to solve them from the perspective of social psychology. In view of Lawrence's social consciousness and concern for psychology, this paper combines personal experience with social background. The paper is divided into three parts: introduction, three chapters and conclusion. Chapter one analyzes the reasons why Paul's mirror is not clear. According to C. H. Curry's "self in the mirror" theory, the general circumstances in which individuals, especially those who come into contact with them, are like a mirror. Man can see himself through this mirror. However, the working class family background made it difficult for Paul to understand the upper class. Growing up in a poor miner's family means a lack of education and many lost opportunities. Paul was thus ignored and prejudiced by the rich. Under the capitalist environment, the poor struggle hard, do not care about each other. Even parents and lovers who are close to Paul have their own concerns and cannot get to know Paul better. Therefore, whether through the upper class or the working class, this is not clear in the mirror. Chapter two discusses Paul's self-image from his parents and lovers. But there was some contradiction in the image that Paul saw, and Paul was very confused. What he saw through his father Paul was an optional image of a young man. What the mother sees is a good son with many virtues. However, because of the age gap, the mother becomes more and more difficult to understand the son. As for the two lovers, both were initially attracted to Paul's charisma. But as the relationship deepened, it became clear that the other side was an irresponsible young man. Eager to see himself, Paul had to react. The third chapter mainly tries to discuss Paul's attempt. Despite his efforts to climb the social ladder, the whole social background doomed Paul to fail. Try to be close to women, especially two lovers, and want to connect with the spirit and flesh. But gender and responsibility differences are at the root of failure. Turning to painting, hoping to be understood through art, still ended in failure. So all Paul's efforts fell short. In the novel son and Lover, Lawrence shows readers the tragedy of man in the social context. The novel not only reflects the author's time and society, but also has guiding significance to modern society. It shows that social environment plays a vital role in personal psychological development.
