“兔子四部曲”中的空间观

【摘要】：约翰·厄普代克是美国当代著名的小说家和诗人。作为美国中产阶级生活和思想情绪的文学表达者，他是二十世纪一位多产作家，其作品获得多项文学大奖。“兔子四部曲”久负盛名，是约翰·厄普代克的代表作，这部作品也能从各方面展现出他的创作天赋。“兔子四部曲”包括《兔子，跑吧》(1960年)、《兔子归来》(1970年)、《兔子富了》(1981年)、《兔子歇了》(1990年)。该系列作品不仅描绘了绰号为“兔子”的主人公哈利·安斯特朗26岁到55岁的人生历程，还系统而全面地展现了在美国近四十年间广阔的社会背景和时代特征之下，普通美国人的生存状态。国内外针对约翰·厄普代克及其作品的研究起始于上世纪六十年代，“兔子四部曲”无疑是评论的焦点。运用哲学观点解读文学作品是文学研究的热点方向，其中空间理论更是异军突起，，成为新兴的讨论焦点。本文通过细读“兔子四部曲”，发现了一条长期被大家忽视的主线——空间。空间角度既与哲学研究热点相契合，又可以为研究约翰·厄普代克和“兔子四部曲”提供新的思路，打破对其研究的固有模式，本文的创新点也正凸显于此。在空间哲学研究领域中，爱德华·索亚是站立于众多空间哲学大家肩膀上的集大成者。本文就将以爱德华·索雅提出的“三种空间认识论”为依据，阐释作品中主人公在第一、第二和第三空间中，追逐自由，找寻自我，开拓生存空间所做出的努力和探索。同时，兔子哈利极具代表性，他不是一个单独个体，他代表着现代社会中的每一个人。兔子的生存问题同样是现代人每天会面对的问题。因此对他的研究也就是对当代社会中现代人生存现状的审视和研究。“兔子”哈利因被空间蒙蔽双眼，在自己营造的第一空间、第二空间及第三空间内苦苦挣扎，本文期望通过运用空间哲学对这一生命历程进行解析，能够给予面对同样生存问题的现代人以启迪。
[Abstract]:John Updike is a famous contemporary American novelist and poet. As a literary expression of American middle-class life and thoughts, he was a prolific writer in the 20th century, whose works won many literary awards. The Rabbit Tetralogy, a masterpiece of John Updike, also shows his creative talent in various ways. The Rabbit Tetralogy includes "Rabbit, run away" (1960), "Rabbit returns" (1970), "Rabbit is Rich" (1981), "Rabbit rests" (1990). The series not only depicts the life of Harry Anstrong, nicknamed "Rabbit," between the ages of 26 and 55, but also systematically and comprehensively shows the broad social background and characteristics of the times in the United States over the past 40 years. The state of existence of the average American. The research on John Updike and his works at home and abroad began in the 1960's, and Rabbit Tetralogy is undoubtedly the focus of criticism. It is a hot point of literary research to interpret literary works from the philosophical point of view, in which the theory of space has become a new focus of discussion. In this paper, we find a long-neglected main line, space, by reading the Rabbit Tetralogy. The space angle not only coincides with the research focus of philosophy, but also provides a new way of thinking for the study of John Updike and the Rabbit Tetralogy, and breaks the inherent mode of its research. The innovation of this paper is also highlighted here. In the field of space philosophy, Edward Sawyer stands on the shoulders of many space philosophers. On the basis of Edward Sawyer's "three kinds of space epistemology", this paper will explain the efforts and exploration of the protagonists in the first, second and third spaces to pursue freedom, to find themselves and to open up living space. At the same time, Harry Rabbit is very representative, he is not a single individual, he represents everyone in modern society. The survival of rabbits is also a problem that modern people face every day. Therefore, his research is to examine and study the living conditions of modern people in contemporary society. "Rabbit" Harry is blinded by space, struggling in the first space, the second space and the third space. This paper hopes to analyze this life course through the use of space philosophy. It can enlighten the modern people who face the same living problems.
