奈保尔《毕司沃斯先生的房子》的叙事学解读

【摘要】：奈保尔因其小说深刻地反映后殖民地人民被边缘化的境地而备受评论界瞩目。他的小说不仅主题思想深刻,而且叙事形式也新颖别致。通过分析奈保尔叙事手法的运用,可以发现他小说的叙事艺术特征,总结出他对传统小说叙事艺术的继承与发展,并进而探究其独特的叙事艺术产生的原因。 《毕司沃斯先生的房子》是奈保尔非凡卓越小说中的一部。这部小说无论在内容、结构和叙述方式上都可称得上是杰作。它是发生在后殖民地国家特立尼达的故事。小说史诗般地讲述了毕司沃斯先生的一生,图尔斯家族的兴衰和特立尼达的社会现实。本文运用罗兰·巴尔特的经典叙事学理论从三个层面上对《毕司沃斯先生的房子》中的主人公的悲惨漂泊的一生、文中各种叙述成份以及环境的作用进行了一次透彻的分析研究,深入探讨并揭示了造成毕司沃斯先生不幸命运的根本原因。通过对《毕司沃斯先生的房子》的分析也可以发现奈保尔特殊的感情方式和叙述方式。 本文主要由七个部分构成。第一部分是引言,简要介绍了作者奈保尔的生平和《毕司沃斯先生的房子》的主要内容,同时提供了本论文的文献综述。第二部分是理论概述,包括经典叙事学、后经典叙事学以及罗兰·巴尔特的叙事学理论。第三部分讲述了《毕司沃斯先生的房子》在风格上的叙事特点,包括小说的距离感、互文性和无根性。将小说的主体分为三部分,主要运用罗兰·巴尔特的叙事学理论从叙事、功能和行动层上来分析小说。第四部分在叙事层上,主要研究叙述角度,叙述人、作者和读者的关系,叙述者和作者的态度,空白艺术等四个方面。第五部分在功能层上,分析了作品中的核心功能和催化功能。第六部分在行动层上,对小说中的人物进行了分类分析。最后一部分总结全文,并且启示读者学习奈保尔独特的叙事艺术和他对小说功能成份的创造性安排。
[Abstract]:Naipaul has attracted much attention because his novel reflects the marginalization of the post-colonial people. His novel is not only profound in theme, but also novel and unique in narrative form. By analyzing the application of Naipaul's narrative techniques, we can find out the narrative artistic characteristics of his novels, sum up his inheritance and development of the traditional narrative art, and then explore the causes of his unique narrative art. Mr. Bisworth's House is one of Naipaul's remarkable novels. The novel is a masterpiece of content, structure and narrative. It is the story of the post-colonial country of Trinidad. The novel tells an epic account of Mr. Bisworth's life, the rise and fall of the Tours family and the social realities of Trinidad. This paper applies Roland Barter's classical narratology theory to the tragic life of the protagonist in Mr. Bisworth's House from three levels. A thorough analysis of the various narrative elements and the role of the environment is carried out in this paper, in which the root causes of the unfortunate fate of Mr. Bisworth are discussed and revealed. Through the analysis of Mr. Bisworth's house, we can also find the special emotional and narrative ways of Naipaul. This paper mainly consists of seven parts. The first part is an introduction, which briefly introduces the author's life and the main contents of "Mr. Bisworth's House", and also provides a literature review of this paper. The second part is an overview of the theory, including classical narratology, post-classical narratology and Roland Barth's narratology theory. The third part describes the narrative features of Mr. Bisworth's House, including the distance, intertextuality and rootlessness of the novel. The main body of the novel is divided into three parts, mainly using Roland Barter's narratology theory to analyze the novel from the narrative, functional and action levels. The fourth part mainly studies the narrative angle, the relationship between the narrator, the author and the reader, the attitude of the narrator and the author, and the blank art. The fifth part analyzes the core function and catalytic function of the work in the functional layer. In the sixth part, the author classifies and analyzes the characters in the novel on the action level. The last part summarizes the full text, and enlightens the reader to learn Naipaul's unique narrative art and his creative arrangement of the functional elements of the novel.
