罗伯特·弗罗斯特诗歌的认知隐喻解读

传统的隐喻研究把隐喻看作是一种修辞手段或一种修饰性的语言表达。然而,随着隐喻的进一步研究,隐喻不只是一种单纯的语言现象,而是人们的一种思维、一种帮助读者获取文本隐含意义的认知机制。由莱考夫和约翰逊发表的《我们赖以生存的隐喻》一书标志着隐喻研究进入了认知时代。在这本书中,隐喻看作是一种理解抽象概念和进行抽象思辨的认知机制。隐喻的结构是一种跨域的概念映射组合。莱考夫和约翰逊认为这种映射不是无据可循的,而是根植于人们日常经验和知识体系的一种大脑思维。认知方法的介入拓宽了隐喻的研究范围。2002年彼特·斯托克威尔发表了《认知诗学:导言》一书。这本书着重于结合认知理论的介绍,她加快了认知文体学的发展。2003年Gavins和Steen合编的《认知诗学实践》是前者的姊妹篇。前者建立在认知语言学的基础之上,后者在内容方面较为宽泛。前者侧重理论介绍,后者侧重实践应用,可谓相得益彰。这两本书的出版顺应了认知诗学迅速发展这一趋势,从而为我们对文学语篇的理解提供了系统的理论依据。作为一种认知机制,隐喻的认知理据成功的帮助了读者获悉诗歌的言外之意。隐喻是从一个概念域向另外一个概念域或认知域的结构映射,即从源域...
