国际学生对美国加州大学伯克利分校的发展影响研究

【摘要】：近年来随着经济全球化、高等教育国际化的发展,赴美求学的国际学生越来越多。2010年,国际学生为美国经济提供了近188亿美元的净收入,其中仅加利福尼亚州就有近10万名国际学生,为美国带来的经济影响近30亿美元。随着美国国际学生人数的不断增加,逐渐壮大的国际学生群体对美国高校发展带来的影响也越来越大。本文主要以美国加州大学伯克利分校为例,通过对2006年—2015年间加州大学伯克利分校的国际学生的相关数据进行统计分析,并结合加州大学伯克利分校的论文数据信息库进行文献归纳等,对美国加州大学伯克利分校的办学经费、师资情况、专业设置和国际学生管理事务这四方面发展带来的影响进行探究。研究发现加州大学伯克利分校的国际本科生人数从3%上升到2015年的14%;国际研究生人数从18%上升为2015年的24%。在国际学生人数比例不断提高的同时,国际学生对加州大学伯克利分校的影响也越来越大。新增的国际学生除了对加州大学伯克利分校的运营带来了可观的经济贡献之外,这笔经费还进一步维持了加州大学伯克利分校的教师数量、增加了本科生的师资多样性。除此以外,国际学生选择就读的专业具有较大的倾向性,这种倾向加强了加州大学伯克利分校强势专业的进一步发展。就国际学生办公室而言,国际学生人数的不断增加使其对国际学生的管理有了进一步的改善。可见,国际学生为加州大学伯克利分校的发展带来了积极影响。随着高等教育的进一步发展,国家和高校对国际学生与人才的需求只会不断增长,国际学生已经不再是一群“弱势”群体,他们的存在不仅能为高校的发展带来积极影响,从长远来看,国际学生更能为一个国家的科技文化发展做出重要贡献。
[Abstract]:In recent years, with the development of economic globalization and internationalization of higher education, more and more international students have gone to the United States to study. In 2010, international students provided a net income of nearly US $18.8 billion to the US economy. California alone has nearly 100000 international students, with an economic impact of nearly $3 billion. With the increasing number of international students in the United States, the growing group of international students has more and more influence on the development of American colleges and universities. Taking the University of California, Berkeley, as an example, this paper makes a statistical analysis of the relevant data of international students of the University of California, Berkeley, from 2006 to 2015. Combining with the paper data information base of the University of California, Berkeley, and so on, the paper sums up the funds and teachers of the University of California, Berkeley, and so on. This paper explores the impact of the development of professional setup and international student management. The study found that the number of international undergraduates at the University of California, Berkeley, rose from 3 percent to 14 percent in 2015; the number of international graduate students rose from 18 percent to 24 percent in 2015. As the proportion of international students increases, so does the impact of international students on the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to contributing significantly to the operation of the University of California, Berkeley, the new international students have further maintained the number of faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, and increased the diversity of undergraduate staff. In addition, international students' choice of major has a greater tendency to strengthen the University of California Berkeley strong professional development. In the case of the Office of International students, the growing number of international students has led to further improvements in the management of international students. Thus, international students have had a positive impact on the development of the University of California, Berkeley. With the further development of higher education, the national and university demand for international students and talents will only continue to grow, international students are no longer a group of "weak" groups, their existence can not only bring a positive impact on the development of colleges and universities. In the long run, international students can make important contributions to the development of science, technology and culture in a country.
